The latest TrueDelta Vehicle Reliability Survey results have been posted. These are for the year ending September 30, 2007.
For the 2005 Mazda6, I have an average of 9.4 months of data on 13 cars. This is an insufficient, very small sample size, so the result is asterisked. The stat of 49 successful repair trips per 100 vehicles per year (0.5 per vehicle) is better than average for a 2005 model. Though the sample size is small, the similarity to the result for the 2006 suggests that it is reasonably accurate.
For the 2006 Mazda6 and MazdaSpeed6, I have an average of 5.6 months of data on 25 cars. The stat of 34 successful repair trips per 100 vehicles per year (0.3 per vehicle) is better than average for a 2006 model.
I'd like to provide separate results for the Mazda6 and MS6, but will need more participants to do this. Responses were split about 60/40 between the two. Though the sample sizes are too small to be conclusive, a number of reported repairs were for the MS6 powertrain, so the repair rate is likely higher for that car than for the regular Mazda6.
Everyone who has been helping out with this research, thanks, these results wouldn't have been possible without you. Those who aren't yet helping out, I hope you'll consider doing so. It would be nice to get rid of that asterisk and to provide results for additional model years.
