Troublesome MSP

So for three years now I have basically been a voyeur on this board. Stopping by every now and again to check on things and help diagnose issues I was having. I saw a lot of posts like "Blown motor" and "another MSP bites the dust" and I thought to myself "these guys must drive like assholes and mod the s*** right out of these cars". Well I think I need to change my opinion. I have nothing on my MSP but a an Apexi turbo timer. and I assure you I do not drive like an asshole, and have had every major problem listed on this board. Blown subs (3), bad bushings, squeky suspension, turbo lag, VTSC shutter valve stuck closed, and now the kicker is an overheating MSP for no good reason. It's been at the dealership for 2 days and they told me today they removed the head to send it to a machine shop for inspection. I get the feeling it will be awhile. As much as I love my MSP-I hate it equally. So to everyone who has problems with theirs I feel your pain. Sorry for a "non-technical" type post, I really just needed to share my pain with those who understand. I am stuck in an automatic Mazda 3 four door rental for an unknown amount of time and I am already freakin over it! Thanks for listening!

Yea... I hear ya bro. I too have had almost everything replaced including two winshields due to stress cracks. The latest for me was a broken waterpump/ac belt. I have 50k miles on the car now. Unlike you, my car is fully modded with all bolt-ons available.

I am still considering trading the car in for a MS6 soon. I'm just waiting for a good deal. That should come when the 07's start coming in.

it's funny how people think we're idiots, untill it happens to them.

no worries man, someone else probably thinks you're a douchebag now.

I've just passed 66k on mine and it never drove better, BUT I have had my share of problems, 4 blown subs, I just bought a rockford fosgate 4 olm sub and it is way better than the stock kenwood, I'd highly recomend it and hasn't blown since my warranty expired. I blew my LSD at 34k, but the dealer fixed that pretty quickly, and the clunk sucks ass, but there are fixes out there, I just haven't decided what I'm going to choose yet. So yah, love, hate, love. right now, lots of love (until the next thing breaks)

how did u get the windshield replaced? I have a crack on it now, its been jus sitting in the garage, then suddenly after taking it out, crackkk 1 ft long. any suggestions on where to get it fixed? Did u get a free replacement?

I've had some problems too recently (the radio deck, exhaust manifold) and I was just ready to go shopping. But now the car drives beautifully and I'm in love again! :) ... for now!

if you can prove it's a stress crack (meaning no stone chip where the crack starts) then the dealer should replace it free.

Good luck man. At least you're still under warranty. Things can get scarier when you're not. I'm building up a set of spares (including engine and tranny) just in case, lol.

i know everybody must of seen this once in their MSP life

knock on wood but i havnt. 40k and going strong. The only issue I had on my speed were; deck, sub, clunk, loose screws on mani, WGA. "knock knocl"x123131231232345235.

btw yellowspeedinNY your car looks dope on that lift :P

i've seen it for the first time within the first month of getting the car. driving 80 mph on the njtp/i-95 and all of a sudden EVERYTHING shuts off. Motor, electrical system, everything. I somehow managed to get the car from the left lane into the shoulder on the right without hitting anyone, without power steering. Itza fantastic.
