I know that many dealerships (it may be federal law) won't take cash for a car purchase because of IRS rules. Essentially they're trying to keep drug dealers, etc. from laundering their money through the dealerships.
That said, ~20 years ago, my friend's Grandmother walked into a Mercury dealer checked out a Cougar, asked the sales guy how much, and then left. She went to her bank, took out the cash for the car, and returned to the dealer.
She said, "I'll take it."
They said, "great, we can finance it this way or that..."
She said, "I'll pay cash"
They said, "oh, ok. Like a cashier's check..."
She said, "No. Cash." and showed them the money.

They literally didn't know if they could do that, or how to take that much cash!

im fine...i was in some stop and go traffic on 95 north this afternoon and right after we started to go my lane suddenly stopped for some reason and i didnt quite stop in time
so i hit the truck in front of me which hit the car in front of it which hit the car in front of it. durp! "following too close"
I was gonna pull it off to the breakdown lane but when I got out to check the damage my truck was pouring oil out on the road so i just turned it off and we all blocked the left lane on i-95 for an hour right before rush hour....muahahahaha
damage isnt too bad but it might be totaled since its a '98 with high miles....we shall see.
