transmission stabilizer

Hey guys,

Just a quick question....I have had a problem with my shifter shifting into 3rd gear. It doesn't happen all the time, but sometimes, it just doesn't want to go into the shift gate and will pop out. I've had this problem before and Mazda replaced the gears and shift box, but now it's been happening again, but it doesn't happen all the time. Maybe 1 in every 20 or 25 shifts into 3rd it happens. Anyways, I was at Pep boys and they sell this stuff called Transmission Stabilizer with Stop Slip by Rislone and apparently it eliminates slipping, prevents hard shifting, and stops fluid loss. Do you guys think it's worth it to add some to the transmission fluid? I have had mazda look at it twice already, but they say that the tech couldn't replicate the problem and I wasn't going to pay them the labor to take it apart and look at it.

anybody use this before at all? any help woul dbe greatly appreciated.

It probably will not help your problem. I have never used it but I think cheap quick fixes usually will not work. The only sure fix is to find the cause of the problem and replace or adjust the related parts.

Ya this seems to be more of a preventive type of maintenance, and you already have the problem, so...

I have the same problem and now trying to resolving it changing de TR switch that is located in the transmissin body. I will told you if this helps.

its a fork on the third gear its inside the trany no fluids will help just replaced fork

for auto transmissions, right? that's what i thought....

yeah, let me know if changing the TR switch in the body helps, or else I guess I am gonna have to go back to Mazda again and talk about replacing the fork...
