Transmission Range Switch and Carb Vaccum Line

Hi Folks,

Very close to having my car back on the road after an engine transplant.

Two final questions for anyone in the know...

Q1:

My car is starting in neutral rather than park so I must have done something wrong with the transmission range switch, what is the correct procedure for installing this? From memory I just bolted it on and indexed through the gears manually on the switch, Maybe that's not right?

Q2:

I have a Vaccum line which comes off around the beginning of the air box pipe / butterfly area, it's a right angled looking one. What and where is this supposed to connect to? I recall a bit of pipe, but I can't find one. Car is starting but idle is lumpy so I think this is related.

Thanks
T.

Ah sweet thanks heaps for that, I didn't realise I needed to manually put it to neutral!

I didn't either... I didn't read it, just posted it...

My car's a standard...

(you should a swapped the stick along with the engine... Lol)

Funnily enough I was at the local pick a part the other day and they had a ds-de 2.0 manual there, front end smacked, the loom, Ecu and box were all there so it crossed my mind.. Unfortunately I'm moving nearly 1000kms away in 2 weeks time so no time for that sort of project!
