Alrght. I Have an 02 Pro5 5spd.

i was wondering. could you use any 5spd tranny thats within the 3rd generation protege5's to be put on my motor.

or does the production date really makes a big diffrence with transmission you need to put on my car?

All 3rd gen transmissions are the same, with the exception of the MSP having LSD installed as well. So in short, YES you can use any 3rd gen Protege tranny on your P5. There is no difference in trannys between the 02, 02.5, 03 and 03.5 Protege5's. The differences were mainly cosmetic.

Not really..if you could find a suitable donor car for a good deal.

But yeah..Auto to manual is more money and work than most will want to take on.

MFG date after somewhere around 5/02 have strengthened shift fork design and different synchro material. Also if you don't have abs you'll need to swap in the speedo gear or find one that without abs.
