Trailing arms

I just bought the 05 Mazda 3 that I had been leasing, and two separate dealers I spoke to warned me that I would probably soon have to replace the trailing arms, at a cost here in Canada of about $1500. I've consulted several sources for info about this but I'm drawing a blank. What are the dealers talking about? Have there been problems with the trailing arms on these cars?

thats quite a bit of money. Online mazda parts has them for $161.00 USD each. I can't imagine that taking $1200ish in labor. I think they are trying to stick it in your butt
