Folks, thought I would share my hitch wiring experience with you.
I bought a receiver and wiring from etrailers. The wiring was mostly plug and play but there is a lead that the instructions say to hook to the battery with the 12 guage wire provided. Not being too excited about routing all the way to the battery through the passenger and engine compartments (and concerned about arcing and potential safety issues), I realized there is the aux plug at the back of the car and finally tapped into that.
I've tested the lights and all is fine so far; we have two 6 hour tows coming up and I expect all will be well then, but will let you all know if there is a problem.
Just an FYI if you decide to hook up some tow lights!
