Trailer Hitch for CX-5 Questions

I'm looking to get a trailer hitch installed on my new 2025 CX5. It's only going to be used to carry bikes as I already have a Thule 2 bike hitch carrier I used on my last car. I also don't need the wiring harness for that. The hitch from Mazda costs $369.95.

Does anyone know what class hitch that is? I know it's Mazda, but is it actually DrawTite or Curt or some other manufacturer?

Also, I really only need a Class I hitch with a 1 1/4 inch receiver to carry bikes, which I believe my last one was. Does Mazda only have one class type hitch and receiver?

Does anyone know what the labor cost is to have it installed at the dealer? If I buy and have the hitch installed at U-Haul, that should not void the new vehicle warranty correct?

The hitches are bolted on, not welded. I mean the way I look at it, installing an after market hitch is an addition, not an alteration or modification to the car, especially if no wiring harness is needed.

it is an actual Mazda part..it is not Curt or any other manufacturer and it tucks up tighter than the others. I use mine with a 1up rack and it is rock solid with two bikes. super easy to install and some people freak out because it requires cutting the lower trim piece but that is what enables it to tuck up higher than the aftermarket ones.

I went with this one on my 2025 CX-5:

No cutting required and because it sits lower, with no bicycles loaded, the rear sensors are not affected when in reverse. With bicycles loaded the sensors do fire continuously when in reverse. The reason I liked this one also was that the bolts go in from the side instead of from the bottom. Side mounting let be hang the rack before I tightened everything down. There are two mount points that are already threaded that you can use to partially hold the rack. So, I enlisted some help, two other people. One on one side, me on the other and the third was in the middle pushing the rack up. You have to lower the muffler by taking off the rubber hangers. That is the hardest part of the install.

If you are going to have the dealer, U-Haul, or someone else do the install, then the only decision is cutting the bumper or not. Get the 1 1/4 for sure, as it is all you need and less seen from the rear.
