Top Speed?

I was talking to some friends and they were asking if it has a Top speed limit in place like other cars do. Anybody knows anything about this?
Has anybody pushed their 3 past the 140 mark?

The 3 has:
1) a rev limiter @ about 7200 RPMs
2) a speed limiter kicks in at about 118 MPH.

Unless you have somthing the rest of us don't know about you will only be hittin' about 118MPH. If you do have something we don't please share.

only goes up to 118 mph. Aftyer a flash or standalone comp is released, there will be no limit, only the tranny

Get in the car, get on 89 and find out yerself. Why read it when you can speed it? To answer the Q it is limited @ 118MPH.

Guess the mz6 pcm allows us to go 2 miles past that...yeah if you are doing that then hope you don't find any immovable objects in your path if you are running those speeds on the street.(boom01)

actually i did this last weekend.
Jumped on 89 from the Burlington exit, then got onto 91 at the border with NH and went down all the way to Mass, all of this in 56 minutes. I was going 95-105 all the way but didnt think of it last weekend. Has anyone done it?

I used to live in Worcester, Ma and would go to White River Junct. and Woodstock all the time. That is flat haulin' ass baby. Thank god the VSP didn't get ya. I am in Erie, Pa and I am going to Worcester in 2 weeks. It's 350+ miles and I looking Foward to every mile of it. The only thing that sucks is that
NYSP are pricks and run thick on I-90.

agreed, very thick, and NY is one place where i am careful with my speed, the other place that i am careful with is NH, but not like NY.
I saw 8 cops while driving from Devens, Mass to Burlington, VT, surprisingly 5 of them where from VT, including one that was off-suty but wouldnt let me go around him.

Man, I just got a speeding ticket driving through Louisianna (sp?). I was going 80 in a 70 at 4-o-clock in the morning. I was about ready to tell the rookie cop to go (butthump) himself, but I just stared at him and didn't say a word. I had the look of "what the hell man" the whole time. Yes, I konw I deserved the ticket (techically), but come on. At least he didn't catch me when I was going 110 (drive) .

what!?!?! a ticket for going 10 over? i think thats illegal lol. At least thats what i do when i want to drive within the law. If im in no hurry or i just dont feel like speeding i just set my cruise to 10 over speed limit and i dont worry about a thing. Thats BS, you should challenge it or something, at least you waste the cops time, i know they hate it.

(notcool) That totally sucks. I thought the La. cops were cool. I was leaving New Orleans @ 4am (coincidience?) to get to Pascagoula, Ms by 6am (a 3 1/2 hr drive) on my crotch rocket and a cop came up the on-ramp while I was doing 110MPH. Thought I was screwed but he pulled in front of me and we cruised @ 110 - 120MPH all the way to the state line where he waved me on, but that was in 1990.

I got a ticket in my MP3 going up to VT this past jan..

On rt4, in whitehall/fort ann area. i was going 21 over but talk the guy down, and got wrote up for 10mph over. Thought it would be 100 or less. ends up costing me 200$ with some new surcharge NY just put into place.

Cousin is Mass state cop and he give everybody to 9mi over and says that what all his buddies give as well.

I guess I'm just used to driving in So Cal where you can drive 15 over without even getting a look from a cop. I think this guys was bored and needed something to keep him awake. Oh well, I will pay the ticket and continue to drvie well over the speed limit. (hah)
