Top Speed

I was wondering what the top speed of a stock 2 would be? Is it electronically limited?
This question is out of sheer curiosity btw.... Even though I have it triple digits on the speedo I have no real need/want to max it out.

I think the two would need a 5 mile downhill straightaway to hit that, 2 seconds faster than a car in neutral ;-)

I hit 110 on the way down to dixie tour. Surprised at how composed it was. It had more but I was cresting a hill.

Yea I dunno. I hit triple digits quite easy on just a regular flat stretch of highway. 112 probably wouldn't be all that bad, but someone else can find that out lol.

uh...i've had mine up to 120mph >.< not my proudest moment but it managed to make it however slow it was...and no i wasn't going downhill...the whole time...lol the downhill just got me to pick up speed faster. I remember because my Corolla was limited at 114mph and it urked the hell out of me because I would pull on the little honda boys but they would catch up after i hit limiter. And i remembered when i passed the 114 mark annoyed at the fact that this 100hp little car could go faster if it wanted to.

ive gone over 100 and was amazed at how the car....well.. didnt do anything. didnt shake. did woobble. didnt swerve. it was remarkably smooth as i accelerated.

cant say the same for my aveo/civic/fit or my friends cavalier, my friends mini was about the same but thats a mini.

I hit 118 on a nice flat, long, newly paved section of freeway and that was when my Mazda2 was stock. I couldn't believe how composed the car was at such a high speed. I have not made any more top speed runs since I installed my Corksport SRI and Corksport Exhaust.

Faster !!

Ive buried the speedo on mine and Im sure that with a lounder exhaust & the correct synthetic oil it would pull higher revs in top gear......thats a test for another time...at this point in time Im delighted with her nimble, lithe handling, stellar gas mpg, and hunkered down feeling at high cruising speeds.......

I hit 114 at 4500 rpm's in OD and she didn't go anymore. Michigan doesn't have nice straight roads though so that was all curvy highway.
