Mazda Protege5 ~ Midnight Blue
a while back i read that the p5 was limited at 107, but today i was on an open rural road and decided to see what i could hit. hit 120 and let off can someone let me know if that 107 thing is false or did the previous owner do something to the ecu.

i hit 138 in mine...but that was a LONG time ago. they're not limited to 107. the msp is limited to 132 or 135...but the mp3/p5s aren't. you'll run out of rpms...and the drag on the car is horrible, so that limits it as well.

i don't believe that the protege5. Ive never maxed it out myself(haven't found that perfect stretch of road (drive2)) , but i haven't read any literature to suggest that there is either.

^not if your boosting
But n/a yes depending what u have done. But when I was n/a, anything in 5th gear was slow to pick up

I've done 117 before I caught up to traffic on the freeway. I was always curious as to the top speed. I have an auto so I was actually surprised that it passed 110.

^Me either, being so low and going so fast, a little dip cold smash the car to the ground.

I personally haven't made it past 105 but I've seen a pro do 150...

I had to find out the top speed of my 03.5 P5 when it was
new, totally stock was 115. I had more rpm's left but ran out
of umpff. After I added my SRI I hit 130 but as everyone else
said it took alooong time. I think I was going flat out for over 3 miles
on a long strait highway. ( this was the 5 speed )
