Took 2nd place in GS autocross w/ Mazda 3 S
Well we finally got it out to an autocross!! Wow what a rush, car stock handles great!! I wish we did have better tires but we took out many cars w/ better tires. I took 2nd to a Nissan 240SX, it was a very fast course upper 3rd gear on one straight. It was on a roadcourse w/ a few saloms and gates, chicago box's and such. My lady got fastest time of day for females racing' she was pumped and in our class she took 3rd. It was her 1st event and she kicked butt. I ran a 1:18 hitting one cone and she ran an upper 1:19 so I was very impressed and proud how great she did. I have autocrossed now for 2 years. A few other Nissan 240Sx's were close and the VW's were in mid to upper 1:20's range. The 1st place guy ran a 1:13 !!! He had dot slicks though and a few corners I wish we were rwd to slide it around. Ofcourse the Miata's kicked butt and a few Sti's were out and Evo's !! Fun to watch.
So if you have the chance go play w/ the cones'
Such a rush ' the car does great stock and you will have fun. We were very happy w/ the Mazda 3 !!
Just had to share' we were the only 3 out and there was a new RX-8, guy couldn't drive , funny thing is he ran 1:2X some....it was a fast course and he must of just hit too many cones I guess...
