TomTom Update Not Working?

Does anyone else have issues updating their SD card with the most current TomTom software? I'm using the TomTom Home application and connecting my SD card to my computer via a SD card reader.

All other updates seem to work but I guess there's an overall update of some sort that the app downloads, installs, but then I get a note saying that it couldn't restart/remove (or something to that effect) the device and that I need to disconnect it manually. After ejecting the card/reader and plugging it back in, the app goes through it's update check and reports that the software update is available.

I then get stuck in this never ending loop of downloading the update, installing it to the card, restarting it, and having the app report that the software update is available.

I tried contacting TomTom support but they didn't seem to understand that I was updating an integrated nav system vs. a portable device - they kept on wanting me to restart the device.

I'm posting this a little blind since I don't have the software/card here to replicate, but that's the situation from memory. Any thoughts or suggestions?

My experience is that you have to put the card into the car and turn on the acc. mode and allow it to update the head unit with the new software (it takes a few minutes). TT Home does not seem to recognize the newer version on the card until it has been installed in the car so as long as you leave it in the PC it will restart and re-download....
