03 MSP.
Well installed my Joe P FCD today, and re-installed my Joe P MBC, and tuned the boost to about 10psi. Car feels great at 10psi with the intake and pipes.
Tonight, im gonna add in 12oz of MMO, and a gallon a Xylene, and tune the boost to about 12-13psi, and we'll see if i can walk a modded Type R that my friend drives. I've been talking s*** to him since i got my car that im gonna beat him, and he doesnt believe me, and tonight should be the night.
Wish me luck, and hope i dont pop the motor.
Shouldnt be a problem with the Xylene, since it will raise my octane to about 100, and should prevent detonation.
For those of you who are scared of the FCD, just remember to be smart when you have one, and everything will be fine.
Fuel mods are extremely important when you run that much boost. Lean fuel curve=death.

I'll post back tonight with race results...

AEM intake, DC header, 3in exhaust with n1 muffler, gutted cats, and 2degrees timing advance is what the type R has. He beat an other wise stock srt-4 that was running 15psi, so his car is definately good for low 14's or high 13's. The race was from about 0-110, and the type R had a car and a half.

Should be a good race!

40 roll style. its too cold for us to be able to launch and get any traction at all until 3rd gear, so might as well roll from 2nd.

a 3 inch exhaust is going to KILL his bottom end, but remember, its a honda, and will easily rev to 7.5k Get him off the line, and get it there, because the second you shift to 4th, hes gonna walk you because he still has about 1500 rpms left in 3rd.

KyRaceFan,
Good luck, I used to have a Type-R with basically those same mods and it is going to be pretty tough for you especially from a roll. Again, GOOD LUCK!!

Boostisgood, the Type-R's redline is at 8,700 RPMs and cut off at 9K!!!

yes update for sure
good luck, i pulled a little bit on a itr the other night on the highway, he had an exhaust but dont know what else

VR6, you know what I was talkiong about. :D Its been a while since I have played with an H badge.

The funny thing is, I was putting the same ammount of HP, stock, to the ground at 3k as a modded RSX was at 6.5k :D and he never got above 100 ft lbs of torque. (boy he was pissed that day at the dyno.)

boost, I believe that, those cars have ABSOLUTELY no bottom end at all but beware of their top end HP.:D

type r redline is 8400. I've raced him before, but never on anything above 8psi, and he walked away slowly, on 12psi, should be another story.

Plus, i aint skeered of no stinkin vtec, i got booost.
But in all seriousness, his car does pull like mad top end... we raced from 3rd gear at 50, and i pulled a half car until he got into vtec, then it was over.

Ky,

I believe you are wrong, like I said before I used to own an ITR and it's redline is 8,700 and in my car the cutoff was 9K. Anyway, good to know what to expect when racing one, it should be a good race vs. a GSR.

good driver vs. good driver........ a ITR would not "walk slowly" away from a stock MSP lol....just to let you know ;)

ITR redline is 8400rpm... and i stand by that. Go check out hondatech.com or something to find out. rev limiter is 9k.
My car was at 8psi when he slowly walked, so i wasnt exactly stock. He ran 9.35@ 78 in the 1/8th and i ran 9.68@75 @10psi.

So anyways on to the races... There were mass cops everywhere we tried to race, and it just wasnt a good idea. The one clear time I had lined up next to the ITR, we both waved and i did a slow 3 honk, and went. He didnt hear the horn over the car and didnt go. :/
Then we had to turn around and got ran off by some cops.

My FCD worked great, but the MBC was a pain. I hit 13psi and it fuel cut, then turned it half a turn and it was only hittnig 10psi. I tried to get it to 12psi again, but i kept bouncing fuel cut. I didnt have an allen key with me to tune the FCD.
The Xylene mix worked well though, and i had no detonation the short time i ran 13psi, then the temp dropped about 5 more degrees, and I had the fuel cut issues.

That guy driving the SRT-4 must have been a Chump and couldn't drive. If that ITR is running a 3in. exhaust and only DC Header ( which sux ass for the ITR ) with a CAI , that Dodge should have mopped that ITR a new ass from 0-110. That car is sucking major azz on the bottom end.. The SRT-4 is a beast out of the hole, esp. the newer one's with the LSD. If the ITR was to catch the 14.0 sec. SRT4, it wouldn't walk it by 1 to 1 1/2 cars.. I'm not bias towards either car, I actually like both, but the newer 4's are good for 14.0 with decent drivers, 13.8 if you know what you are doing..

Good luck if you run him again...

redline is 8400 on the usdm itr..my cosuin has one swaped in his civic.....he had a good 1.5 car lengths on me and he is runnin a stock gsr header and civic exhuast.....it was all vtec of course cus as soon as it hit, the car screamed and he just pulled.....i would luv to see the results..i plan to race my cousin the first day the tracks open back up...he'll have a jdm dc sport (2.5" dp and LARGE primiaries) and a apexi ws exhuast ....vs my 10psi and turboback......good luck
