Since I keep getting referred back to this section I might as well post. Is it perfectly okay if I run a 205/50/16 on either stock wheels or some lighter weight Rotas for my autocross? I'd prefer to run 16's to 15's even though the 15's get me more rubber. Once again just wondering before I start buying tires during the offseason.

I don't see why not. However, a little more info from you regarding class and what not can get you a lot more specific answers. Are you gonna stick with stock class? Street tire class? You gonna run these specifically for autocross? Or daily drive on them? Are you lowered? Fenders rolled?

I prefer using a dedicated light weight wheel/tire setup for autocrossing.

Not sure on what class or why you want to run 16's over 15's but a 15" wheel could relatively weigh less than it's 16" counterpart. Probably would be cheaper as well (both wheels and tires).

you can easily fit those tires on the stock wheel. What class are you trying to run w/ 15's?

I'm looking to daily drive and just autocross for right now but eventually become a car I can make into a SCCA whatever class car.

since you're completely stock you'd be running in H-Stock class. As far as tires and rims, here are the rules

Any DOT approved tires (see rules for restrictions), including R-compounds, of any size (no modification of fender well, no rolling fenders, removing liners, tires cant rub a hole into the liner either).
Wheels (stock size only, offset within 0.25"/6mm of stock).
Wheel spacers (resulting offset within 0.25"/6mm of stock).

check the stickied threads at the top to see rules about mods for stock class and also about tires. :)
