Tires and Brakes questions.

Been reading this great forum for some time. I got my first question.

My P5 is at around 64000 Km right now. When I brought it in for service the dealer said that I needed new rear pads.. funny..... the rears worn out faster than the fronts  , as well I need to change all the tires.

Should I get the OEM pads and have the dealer install them?
Or shoud I get an aftermaket ones and have them install somewhere else? I do not know anything about brakes...:-)
The dealer qouted me Cad $101 + labor for the job with OEM pads.

Are there any other alternatives to the Dunloop tires for P5?
The dealer qouted me $165 each.

Cheers.

101canadian doesnt sound like a bad price to have the dealer do it if it includes labor and pads.
there are several alternatives to the dunlops.
NOTE: being in the tire business i know that most dealerships dont get a huge discount of retail on tires and therefore it is almost always cheaper to get new tires from a tire store or online.

brake pads are pretty easy to do yourself- I would go to a local auto parts store, get em' and put them in yourself... And I would definitely go with different tires- I assume you get pretty bad weather up there, and the stock dunlops are pretty horrible in the snow

OEM tires

The OEM's Dunlop (SP5000m) are DANGEROUS in winter conditions, plus they are low profile, NO traction at all.

Dealer in Chambly quoted me $138 each for OEM tires a couple of weeks ago...
