Tired of my MSP

Yellow MSP
I have just gone past 1000 miles and I am already tired of my MSP. This is my third Mazda (MP3, P5, MSP) and I have been having nothing but problems. Here they are: 1) steering wheels shakes violently above 70 mph. Happens with stock wheels and my Racing Hart RPO7s. 2) Rear bumper attachment is coming off not just above the exhaust but the whole way around. The front attachment looks like it is coming loose too. 3) At about 800 miles I start experiencing a loud whistle or whining from the turbo at about 3k plus rpms. Dealership has no idea what it is. They supposed called Mazda, but that was a week ago. Called dealership and their Mazdaspeed Tech. quit so they can't help me. I have to drive a half an hour to see a Mazdaspeed Tech. 4) My car hesitates really bad. My dealership has no idea how to reflash the MSP. They entered my VIN # and no TSB appeared. They said sorry.

I waited so long for this car and now all this. The car only has 1K miles. Give me a break. I want my P5 back. How can I do this? CA does not have a cooling off period. Dammit!!!Sorry about the ranting. Is this happening to anyone else?

go to another dealer. I finid it easier to get service done at my local dealer than at the mazdaspeed dealer which is an hour away from me. I would try one of them first.

yeah, some dealers are cluless, some are great. I'm lucky, mine has always been great and willing to do extra to make me satisfied.

have you heard about the ECU reflash? That may solve some of your problems about hesitation. Its free. I felt a slight hesitation on my mazdaspeed and I thought it was normal...until I got the flash. Its alot smoother and accelerates quicker through 3000 rpm. Weird loud whistle or whining, does it sound like a turkey? Im clueless about that cuz I can't her the turbo though the 450 Kenwood sound system. Im clueless about your steering wheel problem or bumper problem Maybe you bought a lemon...get to the dealer about that! I bought my MSP about four weeks ago and just reached 1300 miles with no problems. I drove very carefully during to break in period and now the transmission and engine is broken in everything is alot smoother.

I like to go to a MAzdaspeed certified dealer.

the first is the front disc warranty replace

the turbo sound is normal

the hesitation use search copy the file # and go to the dealer to find in the intenet / copy to disc and copy / to the reflash computer is a easy task

the losse bumper part is covered by warranty

att IRR 1239/2000PR

I have my reflash more than one months ago here in Puerto Rico

If you don't like the car, ******* sell it. I swear to god, most of you people b**** more than Clinton during the impeachment. Nothing is perfect, get used to it. You bought a 20,000 dollar turbocharged car, do you expect regular protege reliability? If you do, you're stupid. The more modifications you do to a car, the less reliable it becomes - usually- , and there are tons of mods from the factory.

This car isnt built to go 200,000 miles, okay. You're gonna have problems, and yes, some of them are really annoying, but you either hate it, or you love it. Suck it up, or get rid of the ******* thing. Just everyone, STOP YOUR ******* BITCHING ABOUT THE CAR. This isnt just for you Cam, don't take it personally.

Don't give up on her you will have your problems resolved just going to have to go to another dealer...Same thing happens will all types of Cars....I had a Mitsubishi Eclipse and nothing but problems....local dealer were a bunch of asses...When it comes to Warranty work its all the luck of the draw to find a really good dealer...Good Luck

Yeah, I was about to ask if you have driven a turbocharged vehicle before...the turbo thing sound normal. If you hear a turkey...well then your screwed! j/k The turkey is the BPV if you haven't noticed yet.

The car is good! At least its a realiable car that is turbocharged. It could be worst. But I'm sure if you take care of here it will be fine. I do not get the whole swithing from a MP3 to a P5? Not dissign P5s but I would have kept the MP3 and turboed that! You probally lost money on the trade-in, just to get the same car but turboed. You should have just turboed your MP3.

i went from a p5 to a MSP and I admit, it loses a lot of it's novelty since i was getting 75% of the fun already.
that's why you're sick of it. maybe it's time to move up to a mazdaspeed 6??

Where are you at in cali, i can point you to a good dealership that can help

it is a pretty dinky ass turbo not making the car all that quick. i think i'd rather have my first car back and loose the payments for the clunking **** i'm driving around right now

Then start test-driving other cars...if you find the right one for you, trade in or sell the MSP, and get that. Yes, you may lose some money in the process, but you'll be happy.

This car isn't for everyone...I love mine (4100 miles in about 2 months) and wouldn't trade if for anything (well, anything in its price range). But if you're not happy with the car, then don't suffer any longer with it.

You're complaining because you have to drive 30 minutes to get to the dealer?! Good Lord - try 2 HOURS like I have - then you can complain.

Turbo whine = normal
Rear bumper skirt coming off = "normal" but get it fixed by dealer cuz it shouldn't happen. I say "normal" because many people have had this happen - multiple times even.
Steering wheel shake = I guarantee your tires are out of balance. Trust me, I know, it happened to me and it is a b**** and a half trying to find a tire place that will take the time to get them balanced right. After 3 failed attempts and a couple hundred dollars later I finally found a place that took 1 hour per tire to do them. Since then, it's awesome. You need to find a place like that in Cali.
Hesitation = I know, all dealers are retards. Just call around or call Mazda USA to get your nearest dealer's head out of their arse.

trust me, i have been.

currently on my list if things to trade or sell the Clunking Orange **** are-99-00' Ford Lightning,00-01' Audi S4,04' Evo,04'STi,04' SRT-4.

but due to the "COC"'s shitass resale value i'm forced to keep the thing and keep making double payments till i can pay it down a considerable amount so i don't end up neeing the industrial size barrel of KY come trade in time
