Tire sizes on stock rim?

One of my tires (stock 215/45/17 size on stock racing harts) went flat a bit ago, so I'm in need of a new one. The problem is that I can't spend more than like 50 bucks a tire. That may sound like an issue, but I've had great luck finding slightly used 215/45/17's on Craigslist for real cheap. Until now, that is. No one seems to be selling their performance-sized tires in the winter, and I need one soon so I can use my car.

Someone emailed me and said they have "225/45/17, 225/50/17, and 215/50/17." Which, if any, would be the best option out of those three? From my search, it sounds like the 215/50/17, but I want to make sure. Or maybe I should just keep looking for the stock size?

It's for a back tire, so I wouldn't have to turn with it. Would I be best off getting tires for both the back wheels so they're the same size?

IMHO, find a tire with the same specs, cause if one is different there might be some problems down the road IMO

On a side note, what's that wing you have on your car? I've been wanting one like that for years now.

IMHO, tires are like a good pair of shoes. Go cheap and your dogs will let you know later what a skinflint you are! Get OEM size if you can as your MSP deserves good rubber to help keep you outta trouble if you go for the affordable 'may-pop' ya may regret it. Be safe..

It's not like I buy tires that've been used as swings for 50 years. I don't think there's anything dangerous or scary about buying a tire with 80%+ tread for 40-50 bucks a whack. In fact, my wallet is very comfortable with the decision.

if one of your shoes is falling apart, do you go to the store and replace just that shoe?

In a perfect world, I could replace just the offending shoe. I'm only dreaming though.

Two 215/50/17's on the back wouldn't cause my car to explode, right?
