tire shine stuff

Hmm... I wonder...
ok, i was just wondering what the opinions were here on the board about the effects of any tire shine/foam/gel/junk cracking the rubber. i had heard of this from people in general (not on the board cause i searched for it and couldnt find anything about it, unless i was looking for the wrong thing), and i just wanted to see if anyone had heard of this or found it to be true.

if so, is it after a very long period of use of the stuff, or will that happen to the tire anyway even if i dont use shine. what the deal. anyway, lemme know, i would appreciate it. reason being, i just put some new tires on my car and i dont want to do anything to them that would lessen the life of the tires.

gracias in advance.

I have used that meg's Endurance stuff since I turned 16 on every car I have owned...Not once have I ever seen a cracked sidewall or any sign of wear...

Its weird though...i have owned a lot of different tires from a lot of differenct companies...and almost every single one says that warranty will be voided if any types of "dressings" are used to blacken the sidewall...something about that a brown chemical is a byproduct of the rubber drying with air...and that brown coating will prevent the tires from drying more...

screw that...I have not cleaned my car in a while before during the summer...and they do turn noticably brown when its hot...and its not dirt, it can appear just sitting there within one day...and it is far worse on my dad's 330i, that has Continental something or others...But there is no way I am going to let my tires look like they have crap smeared on them all the time...
