Tire Lifetime

I was wondering about how many miles would you think I could get out of the stock tires? I've had my car for about 10 months and have driven it mostly conservative but have had the occasional aggressive weekend. I also have about 14,300 miles on it. So how much longer do you all think I have before I should start looking for new tires?

Thanks for all the help.

If you don't burn rubber a lot, you should be able to get 30k+ with proper rotation. I'm at 35K (without proper rotation) and the fronts are definitely ready for replacement.

This largely depends on driving style, road condition, ambient temperatures, the pressures you run, etc. I am at 35K and half way through my third set.

i got like 20000 out of mine. a little less. but i like to boost. a lot. and i drive highway. a lot. and one for me. a lot. thanks.

Yeah I just had mine replaced at 18000. But now I got tires with a 60,000 mile warranty.

As long as it still in good condition, you don't have to...I believe you can feel if it's still good...

MIne are pretty much there. I drive semi hard. Lit the tires up a few times. Have a little fun. Im at 26,000 miles.

wow, I only got 18k outta mine. A lot of freeway miles, and some trips to the back roads. I think they only have a 140 wear rating, I got some with 300 this time.

Mine lasted about 14k or so. Hard to tell really since I use a different set for 5 months in the winter.

+1 I was gonna start out right when I bought this car and log tire rotations .... Now I just do it when it seems right.

I've got 21K on the car, probably about 4 or 5K of that on winters.

I'm not comfortable with the wear levels on them. Where are the wear indicators? 3/16"? I don't think they are safe at that point. Hydroplaning sucks.

I just measured 4mm front and rear right now. Lessee ... that's about .16". 3/16" is .19" Maybe I shouldn't run these tires!

Anyway, my thinking after the first 12K on the car, which I did on the stockers, that I'd be happy with 20K.

There you have it, a vague answer. (hi)

i think im going to run the 452's again in a month or so which is what im running now. they lasted 22000 miles. about the same as stock for me. they handle better than stock but the only downfall for the 452's imo is low speed noise. not like a square tire or anything but you know what im talking about im sure. little road noise. oh and they suck to balance. they had a hell of a time getting mine balanced and they are still a little off. at 80+ speeds it will do the occasional small vibration but other than that...i like em.

Those handle as well if not better than stockers, have a tread wear rating of 300 (vs 140), and are cheaper than stock.

I believe the Falkens are also much quieter.
