i found some snow tires on some konig 7 spoke rims for a good deal. 4 17s and new snow tires for $400. anyways, the size is 235 45 17. just wondering if that tire is too wide for our cars? i will be picking the tires up asap if i get some info on this, i already tried searching but coulddnt find anything. anyone have any ideas?

yea dude, for snow tires you want as skinny as possible. 235 would be good for a truck lol

Depending on the offset, you'll rub a little or a lot (more than likely, a lot). But yeah, like everyone else has said, the tires are a lot wider than ideal for snow tires. You want a tallish sidewall on a narrower tire, so 15 or 16 wheels would be a far better choice.

Cool thanks guys that's exactly what I needed. I know wide isn't ideal for snow but it was a good deal so I figured I'd see if they would rub. I'll just continue looking for some 15 or 16s like I planned on earler... Anyone have any??

Keep checking the wheels area of the Marketplace .. or even your local craigslist postings and Ebay. Something will eventually come up.

Sorry, I don't. :( .. I sold it about a month ago to a fellow PA resident that drives a MSP.

dang that was a nice looking set up. looking for something similar for my car. im going snowboarding all week starting wedensay so i need to find some QUICK!

The only other suggestion I can think to make is to try calling around to some local wheel/tire places. When I was in a jam for winter wheels for my MSP, I called a bunch of shops -- and one place had a set of wheels perfect for my car, lying around in the back on clearance. I got 'em at a great price, then popped snow tires on 'em. Had it all done in a single afternoon!

Thanks again for those wheels/tires Cindy, they're excellent in the snow!!! I've had no problems yet.
They were always good for me! Glad to hear you like 'em -- you need to post up a picture with 'em on your MSP so I can get a warm, fuzzy, 'part of my MSP lives on' feeling! ;)
