Timing plate?

Hey,

In a failed attempt to remove my crank pulley, I hacked a few teeth off of that plate behind the crank pulley. I think it's the thing that the crank sensor senses, but does anyone know what it's called exactly, so I can order a new one? Having trouble finding it on auto parts store web sites.

Cheers

i believe it is riveted to the pulley itself, I can take the one off the parts car and sell it to ya if you want.

It is actually a separate piece, which requires seven gallons of PB Blaster, five years and a couple of East Germans to take off. I discovered it's a $10 part from the dealer, only after I spent $80 on a used pulley from a junkyard (which didn't even have the correct plate either...oh well).

On the parts car, is that engine a 1.6L '00? I'm looking for the valve cover.

Cheers

yeah the parts car is my old 00 lx 1.6 and the valve cover has been painted twice, but other than that its in really nice shape, just strip the paint and keep it bare or paint it whatever you want. Sorry didnt know that its a separate piece. I have never taken that pully off, i just know that the ones i have seen for other motors have been one piece.

Yeah, I didn't know it was separate either. It looked pretty solid to me. Then a dude on another Mazda forum sent me a PDF of a section of the actual shop manual. It had an exploded view of all the parts on there, kind of like plastic car model instructions. It really was quite helpful to see all the bits like that.

The whole purpose for crank removal was to replace the head gasket, so this whole thing has been quite the learning process. I cracked the valve cover torqueing the wrong specs from a Haynes manual.

How much for the valve cover shipped to 02910? I might take that EGR off your hands as well, although I think mine just needs a good cleaning.

Cheers

Idk somewhere around 45-50 shipped is what im thinking. Shipping is gonna probably be $13-15 for it
