My stripped oil pan drain. The Vato-Zone toggle bolt patch plug is only sort of working because the hole is too deep, so the toggle bolt is sort of hanging on by its fingernails. NOT GOOD. So, I would really like to re-tap the hole in the pan to a slightly larger thread size, call it M12-1.75? Is there such a thing as a reverse thread tap in that size? You know, like the spark plug taps that work backwards so you don't fill your engine with metal shavings. The only other thing I can think to do is get a Heli-Coil in the right size, but I've got ZERO experience using those and am a little nervous for my first attempt to be on something this important. After all, if I screw it up and the new drain plug fails its good-bye MZR! And no, to those who are wondering, I am NOT replacing the oil pan; too much trouble, too much money, not enough motivation LOL
