Throttle Cable?

Would tightening the throttle cable improve throttle response greatly? I know the P5's aren't the most responsive cars on the planet, but there is a ridiculous delay from the time I press the accelerator to the time it decides to actually accelerate! It has improved somewhat with the intake/exhaust combo, and I'm going to give the ground wires a shot soon, but I was wondering if anyone has tried simply tightening the throttle cable. Is it easy to do? Thanks for any replies.

I did it in my civic, no big deal, when my buddy got his mp5, he asked the same question you're asking now. So we opened it up, looked inside and there's nothing you can really do to it. We didn't tear into it, but from all we say, there's nothin.

Do you have an automatic or a manual? THAT may make a difference - I test drove the Sport AT and thought it was pretty sluggish.

There is usually a ferrule on the throttle cable mounts that allows "tightening". I am unsure where this is applicable on the Protege or not.
