I'm posting this simply as a notice of attention to those of you who have the Cork Sport exhaust on your Proteges, and I plan on posting this in the MSP forum as well, or if a mod can copy it over that would be great.
I bought my CS exhaust as a Christmas present this year (I knew it was coming). First of all, didn't get it until mid January because I had to wait for them to finish the production run of it. When I got it, they forgot to send instructions and new manifold studs to attach it to the J-pipe, so I was sent out to the hardware store to buy some grade 8 bolts to use. Now granted, I called them and talked with them and they QUICKLY sent me replacements.
Then, about the end of April, I started noticing a funny hissing noise from under the car. After looking underneath, I found that the resonator bend is beginning to crack after only 4 1/2 months on my car. I called CS again and told them what happened, and I was told I would be sent a replacement piece ASAP. I later found out that the production run wouldn't be done again until May 16. Well, that day has come and gone, and once again they called and said I had to wait until May 26-28 (not 100% sure of the date). Well turns out that now, the production won't be done for another month.I guess now I'm supposed to find someone who can weld it together to band-aid it until the new piece is shipped, and they will reimburse me.Needless to say I'm quite displeased.
Now I wrote this thread just to address the situation. For those of you with the CS system, go under the car and check the pipes. If anything is starting to oxidize, call them IMMEDIATELY. The whole point of this is to make sure that you don't settle for a mediocre product. I love the sound of this exhaust, and it fits my car great, but its just a pain in the ass to constantly have to wonder what might go next.
Attached are the pictures of what has cracked on my system, i would recommend looking near the middle of the car, on the frontmost piece of pipe for anything that appears out of place.
