Thinking of turbocharging your P5? Here's a guide for getting started...

I would piece together an MSP kit, both are using the T25's so its just easier to go with as MSP kit from off the forums here. or, if you are into an upgrade, You could even go with a T28. And neither of the kits seems to have any form of ignition control, so upping the boost later will be a problem...

if i were to supercharge my car and only run between 6 and 8 psi. would the msp ecu work to control the engine properly?

No, the msp ecu goes off of a turbo style FI, where the boost kicks in at higher rpm. Supercharging is constant boost, you'll need a piggy back at the least.

water return?

i love the set up you did on your p5 im doing the exact set up you did? the question i have is i know where to run all the lines besides the water return? you said it mates with the oem hard lines from there where does th actual water return tap into to feed back into? you explained every well besides where the water return taps back into. please help?

too late???

Hey guys. I've got a 2002 P5 AT and I've been wanting to turbo for a real long time. I've got a list waiting and ready to start gettin parts, but I'm skeptical. Basically I'm worried because I've got just under 70k miles and half of it is NYC driving, which has beat it up pretty bad. I finally have the time and money to go for it, but I'm afraid it's too late.

Any of yous guys have this many miles when you went for it?
Any of you spend a lot of time in the city?
I'd appreciate your opinions.....

i turbo'd my auto p5 at 78k...i have 145 on the clock now, car runs great...thing is you can't beat on the tranny...i do have upgraded valve body and a cooler as well..so that helps..no tranny slippage and the i'm only boosting 6 psi...i wouldn't go any more...the fun factor is worht it!!

I had 98k. lol. I have always been up to date on maintaining my car, this was before a timing belt and water pump install, i also did a compression test before hand to see if my motor was ready for the extra power.

Cool. Thanks for the input. All signs are pointing to yes right now, so I guess I just have to pull the trigger. I want to go with the upgraded valve body and cooler too. 6psi is what I keep seeing, so I guess I'm goin for that. Now starts the scouring forum/learning/purchasing process....

Don't you guys get tired of hearing this?

Sometimes yes. lol. But we were all in the same position and you are right, u just got to pull the trigger and do it or else u never well! I went through the process 3 times and the only thing holding me back was that I was just scared of blowing my motor. My motor has been running great since the day I got it. As long as u have taken care of it! Plus 6 psi as some say is basically non-turbo power+the sound of a turbo and bov. haha. I do know some needed to replace their headgasket and then I needed to do timing belt and water pump shortly after. But with 98k miles I had expected it to go soon. So there u have it. lol..Good luck

i still haven't done my timing belt! this summer when i get the msm back on the road..next week i hope!

Is the P5 engine the same as the MSP car , com ratio same or differrent. I would like to add turbo to my P5 and i have a complete msp car running. Do I change blocks ?? Both have the almost same kms ( canada Eh ). Any ideas???(blah)
