Thinking hard about replacing my MS3 with...

another thing to consider... Think of all the DOUSHbags that drive 350z's. Now multiply that X3 for when the 370 comes out. They are going to be dime a dozen just like mustangs. Unless, the above mentioned is what appeals to you.

uhh....they did come out. i was sitting in one at nissan 2 weeks ago(boom07)

love the 370z and i might be one of those douche bags. im lovin that car

so are vettes, but don't think I wouldn't take a z06 vette over anything else. A very nice car is a very nice car, who cares if it sells well. Our MS3 is a little ECONO box with a turbo on it, the 350/370z is a sports car. Anybody that would rather drive a ms3 around has some screws loose.

I'd rather have the MS3 to drive around. It's more usable as a vehicle, doesn't attract a lot of retarded attention on the road from cops or people who want to race, and the only time I'm feasibly going to make use of the performance difference between the two cars is on a track.

heheheheh.....i disagree with this part of your statement. I, personally, and most of my friends(i've taught them well), hunt the streets just looking for an MS3 driver to race. I know that my slowtege in its current state would get thrashed by an MS3 with a decent driver. It's that one time that i catch an MS3 with a bad driver that wants to race, and i beat him.......hahahah it pays off. Most of my friends' cars would destroy Mildly modded MS3s(430hp STI, ~300hp un-natuarally fast SpecV, 415hp Altima, 350hp TC). So if i lose, the MS3 gets toasted anyway.

Thankfully you and the rest of the idiots that actively look for a street race do not make up the other 99% of the drivers up here. Mostly it is bad Civics and highschool kids.

Are you actually arguing that I get more attention in my sleeper of an MS3 than I would in a new 370z? Based on entirely anecdotal evidence?

no, im just saying me and a bunch of idiots would rather race a speed 3 than a 370. now let me ask you this, you refer to your car as a sleeper which would imply that you try to blend in with regular vehicles. where do you race then? i don't see very many normal traffic regular vehicles at the track. if you are drag racing on the track then what's your purpose for a sleeper??

As far as evidence, Mr. Smarty Pants, i'm substantiating that on a group survey of 6 of my friends. Five of which will attest to have been through rigorous training to seek out and instigate a competition. It is a competition to see which of the two vehicles and drivers is faster from getting from point A, to point B on a given course that is selected at the time of confrontation. So 5 out of 6 would be 83% of people that i travel with, regularly, would give you more attention than an old man in a revmatching 370. Is this evidence sufficient to place reasonable doubt in your previous statement regarding where attention would be mostly placed?

Oh, and don't be so judgmental. I pay my dues to the state, in excess, every year, to be able to partake in afterhour street adventures. I have all my tickets to prove it. if you are going to be asking for more evidence.

that's probably one of the most retarded arguments i've ever seen. street racing is ok because you get tickets? wtf?

(iagree)

Since you get tickets you can go out and be a danger not only to yourself but to everybody else that is on the road with you? Man if I had the power to take licenses away form people you would be a top candidate in my book.

you guys are right. im a bad person. i don't deserve my license. and i'm a retard. i'll put both of you down on my ballot in 4yrs as next president and VP of perfection

(lol2) I've been wondering when I would finally get that nomination(shrug)

look i'm sorry the things i decide to occasionally do upset you and are less than acceptable in your book. i have an addiction though. i'm extremely addicted to adrenaline. i don't drink, i don't do drugs, im not a sex addict, i don't molest little kids, i don't steal, i don't ****. i'm simply addicted to adrenaline. i spent a whole year of my life fearing for my life every single minute. the amount of adrenaline i experienced was intoxicating to say the least. life as a civilian is boring. every now and then that craving for an adrenaline high does get the best of me and i make poor choices. it is my fault. belive me i am making an effort to keep my wreckless adiction to confined spaces however, i'm not perfect nor will claim to be perfect. I am weak at times, i break down, and i street race. I'd say "i am not stupid about it" and tell you "it's always late at night and when there is no traffic there is no danger" but either way you cut the pie street racing is stupid. Now if i'm honest about it and say "yes i street race" and you want to crucify me for it. Cool, whatever, at least i'm honest with my faults.

You'd rather race the slower car? That makes sense.

Track days and autocross are fun, and not everyone can afford multiple cars for their every conceivable want and need. I get to enjoy my car on the weekend and drive my car to work Monday morning. My car also looks almost exactly like a Mazda3 hatch, and it doesn't get much attention. I like this because I do not get as many dumb kids in poorly modified rusting out Integras riding my bumper and flashing their lights or reving at me at a stop light as I would in, say, a last-gen STI. Or an Evo. Or a Porsche.

Someone needs to take a statistics course and learn what "sample size" and "demographics" mean. I don't particularly care what you and your friends are more likely to do, I care what the majority of drivers on the road are going to do, and if you take the street-racer morons (like you) and look at them as a whole, many of them may not be able to tell my car is a 'speed3 at a quick glance, but all of them will be able to tell if I'm in a 350z/370z. That means I get a pass from a good chunk of the hyper-aggressive morons on the road that don't understand that there is a time and a place for ******* around and that in traffic isn't it, which means I generally have less crap to deal with on the road. By crap, I mean you and your 2Fast friends boxing me in on a highway to try and goad me into a roll-on or something equally juvenile.

Incidentally, paying tickets isn't paying dues. No one gives a crap that you've paid the stat $2000 in tickets over four years or whatever when you take out several thousand dollars worth of public/private property, or kill someone, or drive up the insurance rates of everyone in your area by well more than $2000 over 4 years, all because you are too stupid or too lazy or too closeted to either do your penis measuring with a ruler or find a god damn track day.

why not get your adrenaline rush from something legal where you only endanger yourself? or if it has to be in a car at speed go find a nice twisty road in the middle of nowhere and drive that late at night. much safer to innocent people than an "organized" street race

and i find it hard to belive that people in here, a car enthusiast forum, with turbos and all sorts of other crazynesses obey all laws to the T. there has to be one light that you give it just a little more gas to get in front of someone you really didn't need to get in front of. Or that one corner that you took a little faster simply because your suspension could handle it. any one of those scenarios could play out into hurting yourself or someone else. if you follow every single law to the T, i respect you imensly because you are one in 500 million.

I don't obey all the laws to a T, but I obey most of them, and the ones that I break do not significantly drive up fatality numbers, property damage, insurance rates, influence legislation or otherwise make it more difficult for me to enjoy my hobby safely without being negatively judged by society as a whole. You are an idiot for (among other things) comparing doing 10 mph over or failing to signal to racing on public streets.

there's a difference between following every law to the T and engaging in an activity in an unsafe environment that is dangerous even when done in a fully sanctioned and safe environment. going 5-10mph over the speed limit or cornering a little hard (assuming you stay in your lane and it isn't a blind corner) isn't likely to cause significant damage to others. in a street race you're likely going more than double the speed limit in an area with no barricades around and a lot of people.

then trying to justify your actions because you get speeding tickets is just dumb.

i don't know you from Adam, and I mean this in the nicest possible way [since I was guilty of this when in my twenties]...but...
i don't drink, i don't do drugs
let me be the first to call :bs: on that one. so you like to street-race, but you NEVER have a brewksi after the race? eh?

Not after. He does it before. He's such a good driver, he pays his tickets, and if he gets a DUI fine he'll pay that off too, he's a responsible guy!
