I am in the Navy...but spent 3 yrs serving with the marines(go figure)...thats due to the fact that I'm a Hospital Corpsman(or medic)...u see the marines don't have their own medics so we(the Navy) provides support to them...
so basically if ur man joins the marines and becomes a grunt...there will be times when he will have to be away from home a lot of time...be it going out into the field to train for 2 wks or more(and this happens throughout the whole year) or going on deployments for 6 mo wich can be extended if need be...
so needless to say u guys would have to have a very strong relationship...I don't know if you guys are married or not, but that is the only way that the military would pay for u guys moving around...if not guess who will be forking out the change to move...yup your own pockets...plus being married u will get the benifits of base housing, medical, dental, and other things....
oh and I agree with sir nuke...have him look into the Air Force...trust me I've been on several Air Force bases and they are by far the best branch of service for taking care of their people and family...navy does an excellent job...but Air Force is by far the best...
if you have any further questions about the marines, let me know...like I said I spent 3 years with them...my enlistment is a 5 yr contract...3 marines 2 navy...ain't that a beaotch!!!
oh mazdaspeedgirl heres another Idea...why don't u both join the air force, that way u can have the air force put you through medical school and wherever you guys go you'll both be stationed together....
