not quite, the Unichip also controlls timming.

Well, needless to say I got a modified MSP and also a Unichip...its definetely not a user tunable ems, so if you dont have a Unichip tuner in your area that is also friendly enough not to charge you and arm and a leg, then its really not for you. But it does its job...its affordable if you think that it has a built in boost controller and its also plug and play (15 minutes), can be turned back to stock if needed in another couple of minutes, with no trace.

My experience is that when I had the stock MSP, it was impressive, I got so much power that it was great, its really what bit me to modify the MSP. Now I have huge intercooler, manifold, intake, exhaust, etc and the Unichip definetely needed a custom tune, I was spiking bad and also detonating from the extra amount of air. Fortunately I was able to upload a new map from Sam and the car is running incredibly strong, even at 6 psi I get torque-steer on 1st and 2nd which I never got at that psi level. My idle is almost perfect no more wondering on the air:fuel ratio gauge. steady around 14.5~14.7 no problems...I really wish I could get a dyno tune to fine tune it, but we will have to wait and see what happens in our area.

Vic

We can honestly say, we enjoy how the car drives now. (drive)

The last few batches had units that were assembled incorrectly and had wiring issues. Map A will not detonate. Map B is the one that will. Map B advances timing only at WOT.

Good question. I think that you would have to send it to him to have the map changed, because you need the correct, Unichip specific, software and cables.

How bout it Sam?

I would imagine overnighting your uni and overnighting it back. Kinda like how hondata does it.

Basically what Moeed said. PM me for details. I might work something out.

BTW, my current map pulled on another MSP with Unichip with the original supplied map, a Hiboost Mp3 on 7-8 psi and my E6X tune, and a MSpeed6.
I am very pleased with my car. Me and Pirana will race again once his EBC comes in and dyno sheets to come shortly.

I'll be retuning the MP3 very soon for 10 possibly 12 psi and he should be pulling me nasty.

Injen SRI, Vibrant Exhaust, hardpipe. 10 psi. Once I fix my FMIC I'll go retune.

LOL. For the most part, I am running the same mods. Would you consider your map as a relatively safe tune for daily driving? When you say 10 psi, is that with UC MBC and the 12 psi spike? IC is my next mod but, I have not decided wether I want to go FMIC or SMIC.

By the way, are you running that map on stock internals or no. If so, I may be interested in getting map(s) from you very soon, but it will be awhile before I can go forged.

I have a 03.5 w/ flashed ECU, injen CAI, 3" Jpipe back full open exhaust, spring mod boosting 8psi, and DSM AFC.

However, I think the car still isn't running too good with the AFC base map. I am such a tuning noob and I think the AFC tuning is a little too much for me.

I am thinking of getting an Unichip myself.

From the above mods that I have, will the original Unichip map A works well with my car?
