Said he'd do all windows for 172.
Uses Johnson Films http://www.johnsonwindowfilms.com/AUTO.php
The Silhouette or Greystone

It just seems cheap to me, He was doing a BMW while i was getting gas. He seemed to be carefully using some sort of straight edge and some liquid to smooth out the film on the outside of the window.

Anything I should look out for? like what methods he should use?

All windows for $172 isn't really cheap. Atleast not here. I'd expect to pay between $120 and $140. If anything, I'd say you were getting ripped off.

all the windows for 172 is right around where it should be for what ive paid.

ive paid 180 last year for the all aorund tint on my 6 up at Mr Tint in esco. and i recently paid 90 for having the fronts done on my p5.

Hmm i think a few places have told me like 270 and 300. Thats why I thought it was too cheap.

Is there good and bad tint?

Around here I was supposed to get Solarguard for $220 but the bastards put on rayguard. Most people want $250-300 so I wish I could have gotten that price. The solarguard is good tint, its quite reflective though, even at 35%.

Yeah, that's a bit pricey. I had mine done for $160. Visor strip and seven windows. 5/15/15/5/15

dude what kind of tint are you planning to get? Alot of people dont realize there are several kinds of tint as well as different quality etc. $150 is garbage tint, it will last you a couple years at best, it will bubble up and turn purple, and you will look like a ricer. I have a Pinnacle series ceramic based tint that will last between 7-10 years, that doesnt fade. It stays black and reflective, is actually UV resistent, and is laser cut specificaly for my vehicle, nit razor cut, that s*** messes up your defrosters. Ceramic based tint is the only tint 7-10 year tint that will NOT effect your antenae. But, if you just want tint for looks, then go with the cheap dye base. Though I must warn you it WILL look like crap and start to turn purple.

Yes, there is good and bad tint. And $300 on an MS3 for a high quality 7-10 year tint is fair if not cheap. Some will charge 350-400.

I had my old Focus tinted for $120. Full life time warranty, hasn't bubbled yet. And it's been on the car for 5 years now.

Perhaps it's just the fact you guys live in Cali. Here in Kentucky, $140-$160 buys you a superb quality tint job.

I'm thinking the same thing. I paid $179 for 5% all around and an eyebrow, and that's expensive for Arkansas.

Can you tell me what kind of tint you have on your car? Obviously geographical location will effect what they will sell you. It easier to give a lifetime warranty for crappier tint when you dont live somewhere thats always hot and sunny where tint matters.

I'm unsure of the brand of tint that was used on the Focus.

A local guy here who has been doing window tinting out of his garage since 2000 uses LLumars High Performance Metal Combination Films. I don't think he's had a complaint yet. I had my tint on the Focus done at a local tint shop. It stays pretty hot and sunny here in Louisville though.

Renzokuken what kind of tint do you have on yours?
I don't mind paying a little more for higher quality.

jason, i would just hit up one of hte local shops with a lifetime warranty.

i used mr tint in esco, and im pretty happy with heir work.

How do you see at night ??? I have 5% on my rear window but 30% everywhere else and its sometimes difficult to see when its dark and raining. I paid 129$$ at ARTECH in Dallas TX with lifetime warrany.

i've got quoted 350 for 7 windows at a retail place, and 250 from a friends shop both with lifetime warrenty... retail place will only do whats legal, friend will do what i want done
