What about wrapping your headers, Also adding some redline water wetter, or getting a higher rated radiator cap? Small stuff but it helps.

Update: I've finally gotten the tune close and the car is a beast. Spins 'em from a roll in second right until the clutch lets go. I know the wastegate is set @8psi, but I can't use more than about 4 psi before the clutch would slip. Today I got to work putting in the K8 (MX3) flywheel and grip force stage 3 clutch I've had on the shelf. I know the grip force is a gamble, but I figured for the price I'd give it a shot. Got most of the job done, but not quite finished in the 5 hours I worked on it today. Muscling the trans solo kicked my butt

but for real, i bet its a big upgrade over the MSP setup you had before.

But a few questions, not sure if you posted them in the thread already but im gonna go ahead and ask anyways lol
what trans are you using? is it the same trans as the protege?
and the motor mounts are the same correct?

MX6 trans - internally its similar, but the bellhousing is totally different
Motor mounts are the same between the 2L FS and 2.5L KL
 
I haven't really mentioned one of the toys going into the build so here it is. The Jensen NXV3000PC - it got poor reviews when it came out because it cost $1500, but on ebay they can be had for $250 :) Its a fully functional Windows XP tablet with integrated GPS (1 GHz, 30 Gig HD, WiFi, Bluetooth, FM transmitter, USB, audio and video outputs, and 2 SD card slots).

Its mounted in a slightly modified driver side vent. I don't have AC so I won't be missing the airflow. Once the AC is operating I may change things, but I like it for now. A couple of the shots make the screen look dim, but the flash washed it out. Its plenty bright even on a sunny day.

I forgot to take a decent pic of the "jensen home screen" but it has large quick icons for media, nav, setup options ect. I'm really happy with the little unit!

Sick FN swap! how the gas milege btw? how about a venting the hood like drift style? add spacers and longer bolts

ah yea kinda pointless if you ask me. Whole reason drifters do it is so air gets into the engine bay when sideways. Kinda pointless on fwd.
 
You should give Tunerstudio a try for the megasquirt. I like gauge display a whole lot more than Megatune. If you purchase Tunerstudio instead of using the free version you can customize the gauge layout/color/rim/needle/range... etc. Also on the purchased version you can run AUTOTUNE... it looks at you current O2 number from a wideband and then looks at a target AFR chart that you set-up and makes corrections to your fuel map to reach the targets. All you have to do is drive.

I know this is a Miata site, but there is a TON of info. for tuning the Megasquirt.

Thanks MX5 - If I didn't already have Tunerstudio running you would be saving me hours of headache! Megatune works, Tunerstudio rocks! I took a pic with MT, but have actually been using VE analyze live to tune w/ Tunerstudio. Its much easier to use, and the I have some really nice custom dashes. I've just been using my laptop because its easier to make lots of changes with a big screen and real keyboard. Once I get it closer / right I'll use the Jensen as gauges and light tuning.
