It is just a name...Ford choose to call it a Duratec, and Mazda calls it a MZR (or something like that) they are both designed with Ford parts by Mazda. But they both have their differences.
And MarcyMotorsports is a really great shop and will have some great things for the 2.3L

I'm waiting on the Balance shaft delete kits that are being tested on the shop touring car.

You are 100% wrong AzMz3. The engines we have in our 3 have no ford parts except for the Block itself. EVERYTHING else is Mazda except for the BLOCK. THAT is it.

wow how can so many people think differant about the parts on a car that they own themselves. All I have to say is before you start typing s*** out make sure you know what you are talking about. I get sick of hearing all this Ford s***.

Mz3 is Ford this and not Ford that. What is the real story on the parts that are ford and can someone that has a reputable knowledge please type the real facts. Thanks

and it doesn't stop there...if you really start pulling electrical components like sensors some have mitsh emblems on them. also there might be a few minor parts that have ford stamped/ingraved that nobody ever pays attetion to. just don't take you car to ford or mitsu to get fixed unless thats where you bought your car used.

This is really getting old. The engine was designed by Mazda for MAzda and Ford to use. Yes it has Ford parts. Hell the Mazda3 itself is like 75% Ford....LOL
Look at the suspension and the breaks....FoMoCo
