The ultimate exhaust sound

Seriously how tough would it be to NOT add speakers and fake sound, but to voice-modulate the existing exhaust sound coming from the tailpipe into a lower octave or pitch? The flamers here are not contributing to anything but the George Bushing of America. Great comment; less dumbing.

the exhaust system is a mechanical system. not an electronic system. you cant electronically alter the sound coming from an engine and out the tail pipe. its not a speaker.

you can alter the sound by say, adding resonators, different mufflers, electronically controlled dump pipe etc etc. or designing and installing a active exhaust system like the ones aston martin and bmw use. that only get loud when your on the pedal...

If it isn't some electronic setup including an external speaker, canceling the "base" frecuencies of your exhaust and adding the desired notes, there is no real way to alter the sound without mechanical means (resonators, etc).

Looking it as if it where a choir, you can't make a person singing not be heard, you can use harmonics or a slightly different melody to add layers and richness to the song, you can vary the volume and tempo, but as long as he's singing, he's gonna be heard, and if he's out of key, he's gonna stick out baldly.

You could also try hooking up a Peter Frampton guitar voice thingy to your exhaust system and talk through your muffler. That would be b!tchin. You could be all like :::rumbly exhaust voice::: "Hey baby, wanna go for a ride?" And she'd be all like, "Holy $hit! That car just talked to me. I gotta go get me some of that." And you'd be like gettin chicks for LIFE!
