The Slowest GTI VRT ever built (aka Get Some)

:
2008 Mazda MX-5 5MT PRHT
Just for anyone who wants to know what kind of guy I have helping me fix and upgrade my MSP, this is his engine bay. It's got a little work done... nothing major. (Note the sarcasm here.)

Enjoy! (friday)

His center lights look off?.........lol. How slow is it?

It hasn't been dynoed with the new additions, but he figures a low 11 in the quarter. Should be making about 460 hp at the wheel, on 17 psi with the capability of 22 psi.

One light's aimed wrong because at certain high speeds things get adjusted.

Looks nice except for the polished sections on the plenum. They look out of whack.

Yeah well that's called a reflection. Sorry I couldn't take the picture in a photobooth with perfect lighting and backgrounds. In either case, if you see this car, you better bring it. He's put alot of money in it. If you want, he'll be going to commerce here and there and he noticed the Caffeine/Octane meets. Might be there too.

Um, okay? I meant they looked out of whack in the sense that they should be painted red. They're jsut random polished spots. Either do the whole thing, or none of it.

Is your ePenis bigger now?

(places hand into eUnderwear) Holy Crap!!! It is! How'd you know. If you know anything about it, he painted the areas that were not polished from the factory. I'm sure he'll let you take a look and you can tell him how much of a *** he is for not painting it all. (lol)(rlaugh)

Did he disconnect the BPV on this one too? (rofl2)

I don't think so. His blinker fluid kept running low. I was thinking, I might just remove the FS-DET out of my car for something else. Afterall, I bought the MSP because I liked the looks. Everyone keeps telling me how tempermental these engines are, it might be worth the hassle.

good idea. I'll trade you straight up. I've got the much stronger FS-DE. That T is what kills 'em.

You want my turbo. TAKE IT! I'm kidding it's fun. In either case, if you see and hear this GTI, you'll probably drop your jaw. Afterall it's so much easier to hate when it's not in front of you.

I've got nothing against the GTI, what gave you that impression? Honestly, I can't even see the pics / vids / whatever it is you posted because I'm @ work so the images are blocked.
I just hate you. It's mostly got to do with you sending me annoying 'application' requests on facebook... ;)

Jesus, Dale, it isn't like we didn't believe that your friend has done work to his car, all we are saying is that the work he does to his car doesn't mean he knows what he is doing taking apart your car. I at least didn't mean to hurt any feelings about the situation, just wanted to make it clear that the BPV needed to go back onto the car asap and you did, good. Now I want to know if you guys put it on correctly, is the arrow on the BPV pointing towards the front or the rear of the car? I was looking at your picture in the other thread and noticed that your vacuum line is in a diferent position than mine but it has been awhile since mine was in stock location, I just want to make sure you positioned it correctly otherwise it is the same as having it off. noblody is saying he's a bad guy or doesn't know how to work on his car, we're just trying to help you not blow up yours. people seem to be quick to attack you about these things casue of the way you bring it to the table. Like the BPV to begin with, neither of you knew what that was and you just disconnected and capped that off then went and installed a MBC just to see how the car felt. That's fine, play with the car but find out what things are first so you know that removing this or that isn't a major issue, most of the times capping something off on a turboed car is not a good idea, think about it. Another thing I can promise you is there are some people here who could walk up to any turboed car and point out the compnents of it and call them by name, your friend should have been able to recognize that as either a BOV or a BPV and should have known not to cap it off. you get what I am saying. I like his car and it looks like he has put some time and money into it, and i sure hope he is faster, two more cylinders, larger engine, stronger internals, and same weight or close to it, yeah he should be faster. But always remember there is always somebody who is faster with less out there somewhere.

It even has an extra mild vinegar and water disposable douche!

Edit: well put Scott. I think that's pretty accurate.

Thank you Scott. I think that was the main problem here. I feel as though no matter what I posted, I was bound to get a barrage of "Holy s*** you're such an idiot" when I clearly stated that I don't know much about my engine. That being said, when I am given advice to someone who will give it without making me feel like a douchebag, I'll take it. There are a number of folks on here I just quit reading their posts. I take your posts as well as Drew's and Koreys pretty heavily. I feel you guys have alot of experience with the engine.

I put the BPV back on exactly the way it was on there before.

Just so everyone knows, I've already washed myself with my douche. I feel clean.

well put Scott, Dale, i myself started out as a total noob, but this forum showed me all the right ways even though i still keep taking wrong turns here and there but if i'm not sure of something i don't touch it till i know for sure what it is and what it does, i called Scott and Korey with my problems, they helped me as best they could over the phone, but i couldn't handle the disappointment anymore so i sent my car to a shop for them to take care of it cause i didn't wanna **** anything else up.

PS:when are you coming bowling again?
