The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

I'll be home alone since April is going to a bachelorette party in Florida and leaving me with the kids. Luckily my parents are going to watch them for a day so I can perfume the apt with the sweet smell of gel coat and fiberglass resin. For some dumb reason I bought gel coat and no resign for the fiber glass. Looks like I will be making a trip to the local store for some resin and hardener since I buy most of my stuff online. Hoping to at least have the mold ready this weekend.

I'm doing a few things around the house tomorrow, then Megan and I are going to the Blue Jackets game tomorrow night (free tickets FTW). Saturday I have to work, but then I'm going up to Akron for the night to see my buddy Ray, which a few of you have met, and we're going to the Cleveland Auto Show on Sunday.

When to start my car this morning, it started kinda rough, stumbled and died. Then it wouldn't start. I figured the fuel pump gave out. Starting cleaning it out so I could put my bike in the back so I could ride home after the it go towed. Checked fluid levels and all were fine, topped off Coolant and windsheild washer fluid. Decided to give it one last try and it kinda stumbled but wanted to start, tapped the gas pedal and vroom! with a big could of white smoke smeeling of burnt oil. Atfer about 5 seconds if even that, no more white smoke or burnt oil smell. Not sure what the issue was or is but I made it to work. Hopefully I make it home.

Anything new with anyone's projects? The nice enough weather is just about here!

House yes. Cars not really, depending on what happened this morning.

Will need to do oil changes soon and would like to get the sway bars and coil-overs on the wagon but there's no rush since nothing's broken and must be replaced.

wheels, brakes, clutch slave cylinder, SS Clutch line, rear diff bushings, Oil Catch Can, Windsheild washer replacement kit, proper Roll bar mounting hardware, and a new timing wheel are all waiting to get shipped in, or waiting in the garage for the miata already. after all that hopefully the car is running without the misfire and then i guess its time for a tune. gonna be a pretty busy spring for the car

Took advantage of the warmer weather and did some spray painting. Also started a house project so the car will be relegated to second priority for a while. There's only so much I can do without the car though. Debating if I want to spend $1850 on the ultimate apex seals.

Fez stopped by yesterday and we went for a quick ride on the motorbikes around the hood to double check his mods. We were stopped in a left turning lane red light in a 25mph zone in a business area and some goober in a yellow Corvette pulls up next to us and yells to Fez "Nice to see something on the road that can keep up with me." (or something along those lines, I couldn't hear over Fez's exhaust, lulz). Light turns green and he takes off and misses a shift. Stereotypical Vette owner. Sorry about your dick, bro.

I wonder if it just got flooded somehow.

Going to work on Pikachu for a little bit today and see what I can do to salvage the doors so I can stay in SMF because I would get my s*** stomped in for F Prepared.

That's what I'm thinking happened. I moved it in the driveway on Sunday, didn't really drive it so it wasn't on long. Really just started it, let it roll backwards then put it in first and some gas to move it over about a foot so people had more room to walk.

It started kinda rough after work and idled near 2k rpm's for a second or two which is high but then slowly dropped to normal. This morning it was about 1800 rpm but dropped to normal much faster. Not sure what the issue was/is. When I get a chance I'll try to clean the EGR valve, MAF sensor, and check the PCV valve to see if that helps anything.

Maybe it just wanted cleaned out and or was afraid of being replaced by my bike.
