The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

I know you said the sway bar bushings are making a different noise, but I would fix whatever you know is an issue first and then see if the noise is still there. Did you have the clicking noise before you lost a caliper bolt? Unrelated (?) my speed makes a popping noise when turning the wheel going in reverse (like backing out of a parking spot).

Sway bar bushings would make clunking noise over all bumps. My MS3 was doing that before I replaced them.

All suspension bits and calipers Up front came off this weekend when swapping suspension. Everything is tight and torqued down. The click noise started after pittrace autox.

The clunk you have in reverse is confirmed to happen on most genpus. Even brand new ones on the lot!

I would really say it's the fsb shifting back when you accelerate

How about a suggestion that wasn't answered in the original post with the question?

it is possible that a lugs could have even worked themselves loose, it has happen many times and why they even advise after driving on them, that you re torque them to make sure....what's with the attitude?

Weekend of July 18-20 will be the weekend I'm wrenching and trying to Get Lindsey back on the road. All are welcome to come help. I will supply food and beverages and you'll have a place to crash. I created a FB event, I think I invited everyone that I was friends with on here...

NO racing, so I am there

They haven't come loose. Used a torque wrench. Went for a drive, checked torque again, and then again yesterday

If you just swapped all of the suspension bits I would go back over all of the things that you touched and triple check that they are tight and torqued to spec.

One click then silent you say? MSM did that for a few years. Stopped toward the end of last year randomly. To me it seemed like the CV was starting to go, but never showed any other signs of it.

It started making the noise the Sunday we were at Pittsburgh for autox, and has continued after swapping and torqueing down everything.

If I take off from a lower RPM, which the 6 puck doesn't like, it doesn't make the noise.

Phen maybe right on the cv

All great wheel choices. The 6UL Gen 4 should be showing up this fall.

Yep, saw that the other day. Love the 6UL but afraid of buying them due to lack of availability should something happen to one. I know...I know....buy 5 but when trying to be budget friendly....

Introduced in the fall, but not available until the spring/early summer.

Crap....I've been holding out for more details on the new TR Motorsports wheel. Now you have me wondering if this will be presented soon and available next Spring?

Phen and I are meeting Cres from CR3 at Sema in Vegas this fall. Vegas baby!

Hmmmm, ol' roomies Phen and Lady Hands in Vegas together....."what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas" (evil)

I'll keep this in mind. Would like to help you get her back on the road and would give me knowledge and tips for future work on my Miata.

All I can think of when everyone says "click"

Possible clutch engaging? Sometimes at a stop light it doesn't feel like the shifter goes all the way into first and I have let off the clutch a little and it makes a click sound going in. Best I can contribute.

Trying to diagnose a sound online is kinda pointless... Bring it over and I can take a listen with my supersonic musician ears and we can go through and hit everything again with the impact to make sure it's not simply a loose bolt or endlink.

oh- and shut up, Jeff! haha

Nice avatar Evan.

For those with CX5', or any Skyactiv-D powered cars, are you using the Mazda recommended 0W20 with Moly oil, and are you getting expected mileage?

Thanks Thomas. I don't have the SLOW MS6 plates anymore so I figured I would find something that represents the MS6 well. Boom, WWII tank should do the trick. lulz.
