The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

I got a very nice surprise yesterday. Woke up to a call from a gun shop, saying my new firearm was ready for pickup. I was like "HUH?? I bought another gun... what??"

Turns out, it was sent as a gift from a relative I talked to over New Years Eve. I haven't seen her in several years, and we just talked for like 10 minutes. I told her I've been going to the range every weekend and enjoying it, but the PPQ it a bit hard to conceal. She went to a shop and asked what was a good CC gun, they told her Glock 26, she bought it and had it sent to me.

I'm still very surprised with her generosity since we're not that close, she's retired and has a lot of free time so most of the time she's bored.

Wow, what a day already. I'm freaking sore from laying on my back under the BMW yesterday. Thanks to Sho for coming out and helping tho! He didn't get dirty, but the job he helped with helped 100x more than if he was under the car too. "On e-brake... off e-brake... in gear... out of gear..." repeat repeat repeat. LOL. But, got the exhaust off, the driveshaft out... Next up, the CV shafts need replaced (got some in the garage), and the transmission needs to be pulled.

Pay 1/2 of of your mortgage with the 1st check and the 2nd half with the next check.

so in the end you end up making an extra payment a year cause there are 26 payweeks *(assuming bi-weekly paychecks).
its really not that different than breaking it down and adding to achieve that 13th monthly payment is it? i mean, either way im still making a full extra payment each year

dude thats awesome, thats very nice of her do.

Very nice, even though I can't stand the grip on glocks, but they are respectable and reliable.

yeah, i LOVE my Glock and the best comparison i can give is its like the Toyota Camry or Honda Accord of the gun world. its not all that pretty and doesnt have that many bells and whistles but its dead nuts reliable and wont let ya down.

I'm pretty sure Levi is still in recovery from shock that the Colts pulled off the win.

YEAH, i still cant believe they pulled that one off.... hahaha

I read his FB updates. It's amazing how his mood changed in like an hour. (lol2)

and if that were your steelers in that position, you would have done the same thing LOL :P

I won't deny, they work every time, but so does my Springfield. I just like the feel of my Springfield better. I wish I had an XDs 45 though.

It is still weird to not have grip with the pinky, but wasn't as snappy as I thought it would be. Perfectly manageable, just need more practice with it.

Yeah, I talked to her on Saturday since I thought the call was a joke or something. I'll see her in May when I go to the wedding in NY so I'll take her out to dinner or som'.

Honestly I like how it shoots, trigger is not as smooth as the PPQ but still has a good distinct feel. Recoil is very manageable and its easy to take down. One thing I have to get use to is the mag release, because of the grip size and how I have to hold it, sometimes when I want to release the mag its hard because on the other side one of my fingers is pressing against the release, so I have to make sure to move my finger out of the way. And the one thing I don't like is that the slide release is very hard to release when you put a fresh mag in, its easier to user your other hand to pull the slide and then release it. Its not very appealing, but its growing on me.

Im not a Glock "fanboi" haha, i know that pistols are ALL personal preference. i know its ugly and alot of people dont like them. but for the price i was offered on the Glock19 i ended up buying. it was too good a price to pass up haha

I will say i would MUCH rather have my Glock than my Dad's Smith&Wesson M&P40. i personally cant stand the feel of that pistol. dont get me wrong, his pistol is a really nice gun i just dont like the feel of it (going back to that whole preference thing haha)

This link might help with the Grip issue....

Thought about that, but it almost defeats the purpose of it being a subcompact. Its adds 1" to the grip, the PPQs grip is 1.13" bigger... it sticks out a bit and is more noticeable with the shirts I wear, unless I wear it front left appendix style (I'm a righty) or at my 6 (dead center). I don't think its uncomfortable to shoot, just need to practice more and find a good grip. Don't have a holster for the G26 yet, but it should be much more concealable and comfortable if I have it and drive the MSM. Only thing I plan to change is the sights, and maybe an extended mag release. Some people recommend the ghost connector, but I'm not sure about that one.

I rented an M&P 40 couple of weeks ago, didn't like it at all. The trigger sucks, and it kept rubbing against my hand, not comfortable at all.

Im currently rocking one of these around my 4 (between side and back pocket on my right side)

I run that with my XD9, well Crossbreed's Supertuck version. Very comfortable. I can conceal my full size in a t-shirt and shorts in the summer.

Yea i can conceal my Glock19 with shorts and a tshirt in the summer with mine as well... and i like the fact that it has 2 clip points to help distribute the weight as well

Not me.

Anyone else worried about their car starting this afternoon/tomorrow morning? I think the FC might give me trouble. Apex seals never like 0*F weather and below.

hmm I have a neon so no... I think of it like a bic lighter when it breaks or runs out of gas you throw it out or light it on fire and watch the remaining fuel explode

So who all here is going to the 24 Hours at Daytona?
Wish I was able

I'm not worried, my garage door was frozen shut this morning though.
