The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

I just thought about that the other day and how I must have had the biggest dumbfounded look on my face. I had no Idea what to say

And Evan ms6 stuff is hard to get rid of as most kids with mom and dad's money to spend have an ms3... Bring them to the meet and peer pressure some people into buying them. I am buying a dp that is going up for sale as I am there lol. I decided to go with a vband setup but already paid for the dp. Anyone need a cattless stock flanged ms3 dp?

So, I saw a FB post about someone racing a turbo diesel Mazda in the P2 class. That should be cool.

its the new mazda race car.... and its pretty badass, i hope Dyson stays with Mazda, the collaborations with Dyson and Speedsource to get that car to be a contender, IMO would be HUGE!

GRRRR i'm getting irritated with bass mazda. They're blaming my oil leak on my cartridge filter. I said that would be all find a dandy if the oil pool was underneath the cartridge filter. The oil pool was under the driver side rear of the dust cover, NOT UNDER the cartridge filter. Oil was thick & wasn't engine oil. I really wish a mazda mechanic lived that i know & trust lived closer

I just might have to if this keeps up. Since i had the car undercoated, they're charging me $95 to degrease the engine bay, which isn't undercoated very much, to try & determine where the leak is coming from. My undercoating touch up was $60.....

So glad I have a garage and don't have to go to the dealership for stuff. Seems like they always hose their customers with these stupid charges. Then you've got Dat Flex with his $2700 OEM clutch replacement.

Thats just dumb if I were him (but I would never be as I have 96k on my oem clutch) I would find another way to pay for it. Thats just stupid. And Evan are you sure on V's part numbers and stuff that he posted in that spin on conversion? I am going through there as its cheaper than msm. But it isn't our engine...

I know the difference between engine oil & gear oil. I also said i left the plastic skid plate cover off for a few days & noticed 2 pools/wet spots under the front diff. They're saying my cartridge filter wasn't tight & causing the oil to pool on the skid plate under the the diff, but when i said even with the skid plate off that doesn't make any sense. Then they busted out the $95 charge

That was the purpose of the certified used warranty & the extended protection plan. I guess wanting the car not to rust like my fukus did is not recommended by mazda

I've never had to change a clutch on any of my cars and I downshift through the gears. I think that cat needs some lessons in how to drive a manual.

And why are you asking me if V's part numbers are correct? Why not ask V? Haha. I just posted the stuff from Mazda since I know for a fact they will work. In theory, the Ford stuff might work too, but I'm not sure. The Mazda parts are like $8.00 more right?

Oh, and exciting news for MS3/MS6 owners who delete their A/C compressor. Someone got me hip to the NC Miata A/C delete pulley and Jake ordered one and it showed up last night and we test fit it on my old motor and it looks like everything lines up perfectly. I'm sure he'll post more info when he mounts it all up. And I'll be ordering one this weekend and will post part numbers and pics once it's confirmed it fits. (que Phen saying people who delete their A/C are stupid. ;) )

why are you deleting your AC? I love my AC is the weight/power advantage that great that its worth it?
Edit: I thought the one V posted had free shipping but it does not yes there is an $8 difference I will just order the Mazda stuff

i rev-match/heeltoe when i downshift and ive had to replace a clutch in my 3. just cause you have to replace a clutch doesnt always mean you are uncapable of driving a manual. but then again im just "monkeyass" so what do i know

you don't have 19k... Every time I saw him/his car it reeked like a baked clutch. I bet he rests his foot on there or something. How much you wanna bet he blames the excessive wear when they take it out to a factory defect

i was being a bit of a smartass... lol i knew he killed his FAR before it should have died, just didnt know it only made it 19k LMFAO

my clutch died with ~95-100k on it, modded and making pretty decent power for an NA 3. and lasted a bunch of autocrosses, a trip or 2 to the dragstrip and all the lovely hills in pittsburgh before it died lol

the one video I saw posted on OMS was pretty bad.

19k is absurd. Theres user error for sure

Yeah i dont get it. I rev match downshift all the time and have no issues with clutch slippage or anything.

Hell, i did the clutch on my saturn at 149k when i had the motor out to do head gasket and head swap and it still had plenty of material left. That car only had 85chp though lol.

I didn't know you even knew how to drive a manual? ;) Maybe I've just lucked out. Heck, the black P5 (223k miles) and MS6 (152K miles) both still had their original clutches in them. But that's all due to previous owners being awesome drivers, I had nothing to do with it.

Hows your clutch and Mazdaspeed flywheel holding up now?

I've been trying to break myself of the bad habit of resting my foot on the clutch between shifts and get used to using the dead pedal but like I've said, never had any clutch issues in the 13 years I've been driving manual transmissions.

Old man...

LOL

Anyways, without a/c...what do you do to defog windows during the summer when its humid and nasty out?

Jen just called from the grocery store saying that her power steering isn't working right. She said the p.s. light and the brake warning lights flashed a few times while she struggled to get into a parking spot. Add that to her radio issue and I am afraid the car is in the beginning stages of electrical gremlins. Might be time to push it over a cliff.
