The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

Hey all!

I was browsing the FS sections and found something I had to PM about, so since I was logged in for the first time in 6 months, I figured I would say hello!

Long story short on my life since many of you I haven't seen in a year or two, except maybe at MidOhio for Grand Am--
Building a house within the next 6 months, getting married in June. Quit my job at GFS two months ago and started working for http://www.ecstuning.com/ as a customer service representative where I get crazy good deals on parts for European cars that I don't drive!

On the side, www.jri-photography.com didn't exactly explode into being an immediate full time job, but it has kept me busy and overwhelmed. Generally I shoot at least something every weekend. In my first year as "pro" I have shot three weddings, about 10 family/senior portrait sessions, and a handful of other events. Like my Facebook page please! www.facebook.com/jriphotos

My car? I still drive it like a grandpa. 116,000 miles and going strong. 1 year, 9 months of payments to go. Once it is paid off or hits 150,000 miles, it will get a royal makeover including big turbo. At that point I will probably purchase a European DD if I am still at ECS Tuning.

I hope this finds everyone well! Hopefully after June life will slow down a bit and Justine and I will be able to meet up with the group again. I miss the winter Winking Lizard dinners....It seems as though there are a lot of new faces and some that have really become close-knit with the team! I see the big November meet on Facebook, we will try to make it down!

Thanks

Your actually covered for like a week after your purchase, i believe. I believe its covered under your current policy until you contact your current insurance provider. Or at least that's what i remember from what my brother-in-law told me, who works as a agent for state farm.

Yeah I mean I'm not getting the plates and title transfered till tuesday so I will still be driving the speed for a few more days. I'm so excited to drive something that gets good gas mileage!

glad to hear all is well Chippy!

Classes today have been a drag. Learned how to make pesto in my financial markets & institutions class lol. I have a feeling its gonna be a long week

Well, it was a long weekend but at least I have some new mods in the sig to show for it AND I have an interview tomorrow for another sales job up in Akron. (dance)

Finally went to a FMIC from the stock TMIC & added Meth (when are you gonna start cookin it?!?! I need MOAR!!!). Did some testing last night and I was seeing 20 degrees below ambient. I didn't do any logs so I'm not sure what my IAT's were but with a SRI I'm doubtful that they were ambient. Although I am running a completely open hood scoop now.

Nice! Ever since doing the TB coolant bypass, I've been seeing BATs 10-18* above ambient when not in traffic with my TMIC and CAI

Thats pretty good for just a TMIC on a genjuan. I'm sure the CAI plays a pretty decent part in those results. Do you know what you were seeing before?

Before, BATs never went under 90 degrees unless ambient was below freezing.

IAT today from class to lunch was 64* with 55 ambient

I would like thank Marlon and Pablo for giving me a hand testing out the RX-7 this sunday. It starts, runs, and stops now I need to handle all the little stuff. I still need to install the Accusump, change the shocks, paint the car and install the lexan windows. I can't wait for next season to get this car on track. It would suck as an autox car since the power is to peaky. It really doesn't make any power until 5k rpm anything below that it just bogs.

Sounds like you didn't end up taking it down to autocross on Sunday?

Glad to see it running! I'm looking forward to seeing it in action next year.

P.S. Put a passenger seat in there. ;)
