Sounds bad.
Patrick sent me a bill of sale that I filled out and both me and the guy who bought my Speed3 signed. Says stuff about no warranty being implied and that the car is sold "as-is" and all that.

Evan, reach out to Tom and get a legal opionion. I believe that there is a implied law that all sales are as is when it comes to used vehilces. He chose not to to test drive the car and take it to a mechanic. If you want I can reach out to him if you want,
I'll call this joker back after work and tell him all sales are final and not to contact me anymore. I downloaded a call recorder app on my phone for good measure. lulz.

I bought the P5 without driving it, but that's a much different situation.
bad situation man, for sure. Ok so the ad said that the transmission was wonky, so whatever there... but the engine is bad? Uhh... whut?

Yeah, I should've done some more research on how to protect myself before selling a car. So let me mistake be helpful to all you other cats.
I just called him back and he calmed down a lot. He said even if the trans is broken (which it isn't, those transmissions just suck) he still got a good car for $1700 and he's happy about it. He was just pissed since the shop told him a bunch of things are wrong with it. But he doesn't know cars and was freaking out. The shop said it needs a new catylitic converter (what?) and an EGR. I told him it just passed e-check 1-1/2 years ago and I cleaned the EGR when I did the swap. But you know these Mazdas and their EGR's. haha. But his GF was yelling at him to get his money back and blah blah blah, he calmed down after I talked to him about it and he doesn't think he's getting ripped off or anything. Which is good because this cat had my anxiety through the roof. double lulz.
Anyway, moving on. So how about them new Speed3's, eh? Pretty snazzy cars.

I'm glad you were able to talk to him about it and get it all figured out like a couple of normal people. Seems like everyone these days is all crazy about everything and makes a simple transaction like that super difficult.

I heard they are about on par with an STI once you're in 3rd gear. Thoughts?
I sold my soul for my 07. Would do it again for a 2013 just to have one since its beingn discontinued
Not to sure about that one. I'm still getting used to the STI, but I can say it is faster overall. And stock vs stock the handling and brakes are much better.
However, the sound system is basically pointless, and I'm pretty sure there is no or very little sound deadening in the doors or the floor. (Less weight I guess, haha).
I don't remember where exactly I read it, but it's said that from a 40 roll an MS3 and STi are pretty fairly matched. Now that STi is going to be killer off the line and would definitely make the car feel much faster than an MS3.
If both cars are stock, from a 40-120 roll, ms3 will be ahead by a little bit
Edit: my car, which is basically stage 1, but minus the tune at the moment vs. My friends 2011 STI hatch with cobb AP stage 1 map were dead even from 40-90.

Everyone knows the sedan is faster than the hatch.
I'm seriously thinking about bringing the STi out to Mid-Ohio on June 10th instead of the Miata, so perhaps there will be some data to compare against the MS3s that will be there.Everyone knows the sedan is faster than the hatch.
