The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

woke up to another snowy day in cleveland : ( it's March, it's getting old. but next weekend supposed to hit mid-high 40's so maybe this is the end of it!!

does anyone happen to have any extra carpet tack strips laying around? i guess they come in 4' long pieces and about 100 pieces to a pack from what i see on the Home Depot site, but I only need 2-3 pieces for a project i'm thinking of ...

What's up folks? I was hoping it was going to be a little warmer so that I could get out and fiddle with the BMW, but I guess no luck. Meh, **** it... I have my insulated overalls, I'll go out there anyway for a little bit.

Guess it will be a video game day.... Hate the cold and I'm still not 100% after this damn sinus infection.

today the front sway bar swap gets finished.
I work really slow and i'm usually half asleep... so we're still working on this. Getting the new bushings/brackets to line up with the mounting points took around an hour... the energy suspension bushings from autozone were too long and too wide, and the tiny prothanes we got from jegs were *almost too wide... after an hour of prying on them we got the last of the 4 bolts to go into the subframe straight. (40 minutes of that was us feeling around where we couldn't see, trying to screw in the bolt blindly, then when we take our hands off the bolt and look at it it's like BOOM: sideways.)
Also: if you go to jegs they give you a free jegs hat. Girl behind the counter says, "wouldyoulikeafreejegshat?"
and i say, "Huuh?!?!"
that was fun...

The cold is nice Phen :D except for when it's windy... or breezy. I love hiking in the winter...

...someone buy this extra rear sway bar i have -_-

Yeah... it won't be too bad. I need to pull the driveshaft and replace the center bearing and flex shaft. While that's out, I need to check if the rear main seal is leaking or not. There's a small puddle from time to time and I can't find where it comes from.

It's snowing - Will I ever get to try out these snow tires? Perhaps today? No, probably not, it never sticks lately.

Congrats, Bill! That's gotta be a huge relief to have something lined up.

And Sho, that is SUPER nice of you to pick up those wheels for Patrick. What kind are they, man? Pics or GTFO.

I'm very happy with my purchase and Sho is the man

Trying to snow down here in Cinci and failing, fortunately. It's still only about 30* and I get to dig around pick-and-pull for some 929 brake parts in Dayton a little later.

Those look real nice, not beat-up from what I can tell. How are the tires? What did you have to pay for them? Craigslist?
There are a few curb marks here and there but nothing really noticable. Tires aren't great will need replaced in a 1000-2000 miles. I have tires waiting for them. But I got them off craigslist for 220. they retail for 165 per wheel so I couldn't hardly compain

might be too late but Home Depot should have a pack of 3 in the stores.

The 929 was buried under 3 other cars but I was able to check out the booster/MC and they look good! Gonna have to wait a week so they can un-bury the car and pull them for me. However, I stumbled across a '96 Miata 5-speed and picked it up to swap the gearset over into my spare transmission. Funny how things work that way...

got the front bar finished up yesterday :D sort of on time...
It's awesome.
Hopefully nothing falls apart when i'm driving around virginia for a week or so next week... that would be sadness
