The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

haha lucky you, I just usually have tires shipped from tirerack or discount tire to my house then there is a guy by me that mounts and balances for $24

If you don't care about performance and just want something that will last and be relatively affordable I'd go with the Continental DWS. My wife has them on her 3 and they are great. They will probably be around $700 in the size you mentioned though. And Marlon might still be able to get you $80 off for a set. :)

They aren't going to blow up or anything and satisfy what you're looking for so I don't see why not.

If you drive the Speed normally it won't eat tires. However, if you autocross, drive aggressively on the street, or have an aggressive setup then yes. Last summer I ate up front tires pretty quickly autocrossing.

MSP eats tires like no other, but I autoX and drive pretty aggressive :) I think I've been through close to 5 sets of tires since owning my MSP and that doesn't include the Hankooks I still have, but I'm pretty sure little Adam is going to buy them in the spring so he can try to keep up with me :)

haha awesome. I drive aggressive but only when I find time to get on the curves. Or the occasional mustang on the highway. But that shouldn't eat my tires up to bad. Thanks for the help

Look what came in the mail! (breakn) JBR Trilogy Motor Mount Package (80 Durometer). Haven't installed them yet, but I'm ready for the vibes (so is my girlfriend (naughty) ) HAHAHA!!

I also picked up a Hypertech for $200. I know, I know, it's not an AP...I don't care. If I find that I need for the AP, I'll buy one. I doubt I'll need one though as the only other "power" mod I plan on doing is a FMIC (to cure heat soak on the track). This is still my daily drive and I want to keep the engine running for a while. If I want more power, I'd rather just get another car (RWD of course) and make it a dedicated track car.

So far, I'm loving the Hypertech. The car no longer falls flat on it's face at 6000 RPM LOL!! Also, I removed the 1st and 2nd gear boost restriction and holy s*** it launches like a bat out of hell! Can't wait until spring when I have my motor mounts installed and I put on my summer tires.

Good job on the JBR trio. I've put about 3k miles on my trio so far. I've opted for the 70 duro version, plenty of vibes but they have settled in for the most part. I like it now better, I think 80 would be a little too much for my personal taste.

I have OEM continentals on the smart car (not sure which ones honestly), and they've lasted 23k (15k with me), which has to be some kind of record, seriously. 400 tread wear but they really aren't too bad grip-wise. I can take the same corners at the same speeds as I did in my stock 2 with 195 series OEM toyos (smart is 155/175).

I was impressed. I was planning on getting a stickier tire until I watched a fiat roll on some sticky tires lol

Evan, you have a man date tomorrow? (drinks) lol

Chris, I actually have TWO man date's tomorrow! I'm such a *****...

Evan, Daytona doesn't matter to me so I'm for sure in, make sure you text me though because I'm not on here all the time!

Thanks, Jess!

Nate with the super swoop link. Nicely done, sir.

Larry, I think a broken leg is a good excuse to not help moving a friend, come on now. Haha. Corey, you don't need to drive 2 hours to help me move, silly. Will, thanks very much for the offer! I'll let you know for sure. We'll talk it over at dinner tomorrow. ;)

You guys might need supervision. lol Can I still show up for free food and drink?

Heh... 23k miles on 400 treadwear for you. I got about 55k on the 400 treadwear I just took off the Civic. Hell, I've got 20k on the 200 treadwear on the MSM, and if it wasn't for a missing lug key, I'd easily get 30 out of them, but I can't rotate them until I find a key.

Mazda locks. I've tried a bunch of people's locks and they don't fit. I know people have said to use a socket just a little smaller than the diameter of the nut itself and smash it on there with a hammer. Hasn't worked, and many of you know I'm not liberal when it comes to using the BFH.

I am so bored! I hate not being able to just get up and walk around. Getting a cup of coffee from the kitchen to the livingroom is an adventure. My surgery had to be set up for next thursday because of the meds I take. They need time to get out of my system I guess. The doc I have is a little too confident imo, he has not let me know anything about the surgery. My guess is that he has done so many surgeries that he forgets to let people know what he is going to do. His bedside manner sucks!
