The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

We are doing nothing.......bored to death. Spicy is at Big 3 getting the cold pipe re-routed, so the Mishimoto can fit. Looking at the ALMS race on Tv.

I forgot ALMS was running. I see that Grand Am and ALMS will combine. 2013 I think?

I met up with a cat to sell some Protege parts to (yay Craigslist) and we were BS'ing and he asked if I knew anything about coilovers. They are putting them on his friends STi at his shop down the street and don't know how to adjust the ride height. So I followed them to the shop and showed them not to mess with the damping (I learned the hard way too), just adjust the shock tube for ride height. It was a really nice STi with about 325whp. They had a couple race bikes in there that Jess would've loved (I don't know jack about bikes though). Nice guys though.

PS- they said no one goes to Superfly anymore, they all go to Belden Village Sunday nights. Apparently there is a Maserati Quattroporte that goes too. Ooooh... :)

Anyone interested in doing a weekly NFL "Pick-Em" style game for a little cash? Here is how it will work:

$2 per week, person with most picks correct wins entire pot

20 picks--
10 straight-up winner picks
5 spread picks
5 player/team prop picks
NFL ONLY (for this year...)

I will email you the picks on Tuesday. Return email with your picks by Saturday 11:59pm. Paypal me $2 each week with the picks. I have a spreadsheet created to keep track of who has paid and who has not.

I think I can get between 10 and 20 people committed regularly to this. That means you put in $2 each week and can possibly win up to $40. Pretty good payout!

PM me if you are interested with your email. i will then give you my Paypal addy. Expect to see the first set of picks sometime on tuesday!

Thanks!

Edit: I will take care of everything electronically, using email, Word, Excel, and Paypal. I will create spreadsheets and everything. there will be no miscommunication or scamming on either end.

Picked up my AEM UEGO and SSAFC yesterday from my parents house. Can't wait to install. Just waiting on my carbo fiber to build a new gauge pod in my cup holder. Then let the fun begin. DO WORK!

Yeah, it's almost done. I predict a clusterfuck as both series have different ideas on the sport.

Well, it's going through, but it wouldn't have gotten this far without NASCAR having a controlling stake in it... so that's frightening. This COULD be a really, REALLY good thing, but it could also go horribly wrong. We'll see.

I like the way they structured the classes in that article... But that probably means that it's going to be nothing like that. Nonetheless, ALMS is my favorite American series and the TV coverage sucks. So I hope this goes through and makes everything better.

I don't believe the Speed3 pads were made for 96,500 miles :D

Hopefully, they'll iron out all of the specifics and they basically have a year to do it. Hopefully they will not have 5 classes running on track at the same time.My question is how are they going to handle Sebring, Petit Le Mans, Rolex 24 and the 6 hours of the Glen......? One good thing is that Grand-Am does not charge for parade laps, whereas IMSA did...so we'll see how it goes in 2014. ALMS could use the infusion of cash and NASCAR has done really well with Grand-Am's resurgence.

NASCAR has done really well with Grand-Am's resurgence.

That is really the one thing that gives me hope here. They handled Grand Am very, very well (from an outsider's perspective at least), so here's hoping that things continue in that direction.

I think that there won't be many issues if they keep the signature races totally separate. For example, I don't want to see a LeMans Prototype running around Daytona.

I can't imagine they would keep the signature races separate and combine everything else. What's wrong with a LMP at Daytona?

I also think that they would want to continue to structure the classes to allow teams to go over and compete in the 24 hours of Le Mans without having a completely different set of cars.

Lets see, ALMS P1-Speeds close to 200mph.....P2 180MPH GT-same as P-2 Prototype Challenge limited to 430HP....... Grand-Am- DP 180-190 MPH, GT 160-170MPH GX Class 400-430HP? the ALMS GT Class 150 which are all GT 3 Cup cars........curious to see how this shapes up, especially if the Euros come over for the big races, Rolex 24, Petit le Mans, 6 hours of the Glen.....You certainly cannot combined GT Challenge with GS & ST as those fields are 60-70 cars or more......can't wait to see what shales out....I will see my whatmy sources @ Grand-Am and Mazda have to say.

How will Dempsey Racing handle their ALMS and Grand-Am GT Programs on the combined weekends? Hmmmmmmmmmmmm

Had the Hyundai detailed today, looks much better now but the brake fluid reservoir is empty again... need to look into that leak but probably wil have to pay a shop to replace the line, unless its not that hard to do. Hoosiers are mounted and ready, will have to take 1 wheel in the car while I have the trailer modified ( : cough : Josh : cough : ), I'll see if I can get the plate for the trailer this weekend so I can take it to Toledo the 16th.
