The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

Maybe now you'll start speaking English because I can't understand anything you say when you start talking.

I'm liking the sound of the Grand-Am - ALMS merger. Going to be pretty exciting to hear all the technical stuff ironed out over the next year or so. I'm glad to hear that they value keeping the link with the ACO and Le Mans.

I don't believe that Jim France or Don Panoz would allow this thing to get messed up.

I'd love to see those Audis at Daytona in January 2014 :D

I missed the first part but I like the ideas I did hear. With only 12 races on the schedule makes me wonder what stays and what goes. Mainly if Mid-Ohio stays on the schedule, with both series going there in the past it gives me hope.

Daytona, Sebring & Road Atlanta are obvious to be on the schedule

Daytona, Sebring, Watkins Glen (only once), Mid-Ohio, Road Atlanta, Road America, Laguna Seca.

Those tracks in my mind are for sure. Mid-Ohio is pretty secure as it has been on the ALMS and Grand-Am calendars every year since those series came into existence.

I'm sure there are other factors that will come into play. The promoters of the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg own Mid-Ohio now so that could work it's way onto the schedule. Plus, with Baltimore being fairly new ALMS may have an agreement for X number of years at that venue.

I'm hoping the sale of Sebring as part of this deal will bring alone some improvements of that place. Every year it looks a little rougher.

Baltimore's race is a ****hole tho. I'd rather go back to Belle Isle. At least they didn't have to add a new chicane to slow cars down because the pavement blows.

I hate American street courses, they all suck IMO. The Belle Isle race was terrible, but I agree with you the Baltimore track is even shittier than Belle Isle. Of the American street races only the Long Beach circuit is somewhat acceptable. You can't tell me the drivers enjoy driving at these places.

with PIRC (formerly known as Beaver Run) adding a substantially large section of track and talks of more garages being built, i wouldnt be surprised if they tried to get host a series or 2 in the future... not saying its going to happen, but i know they are certainly gearing up for much improved complex

Long Beach is the best street course in America by far......Also the ownership that owns Mid-Ohio, St. Pete, also owns Mosport........Looks like MOCO will have two trips to Florida in 2014! Looks like we'll be losing Barber, Road America(I hope they keep it on)VIR, Lime Rock? Lime Rock has always bee a great draw for us.....

And yea Levi, I'd probably do the same. I mean, it's not their fault they got hit, so why should they pay full price for a car that's been repaired to this extent? We actually get quite a few brand new cars in surprisingly. Recently, I fixed a'12 Town and Country that only had 600 miles on it! It still had the temp tag on!! It wasn't to this extent, pretty much all bolted on parts, but the estimate was still for over $13,000.
I still think that if someone hits another car, the person at fault's insurance should pay for the other person's car like it does currently... BUT the person at fault should have to fix their s*** (unless it's totalled).

Anyone going to Mid-O this weekend to watch NASA races?

Let's not forget the new track in texas. Circuit of the americas I believe the name is. That could be a good addition as well.

that would be called liability coverage. I pay full coverage for instances like this spring where I got cited as at fault for someone stopping in the middle of an intersection on a green light. In my mind they are at fault for being a dumbass but that's not how the system works
