The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

When I think of those DIY tint kits I always picture the cars in Walmart parking lot with purple tint and tons of bubbles... To me, tint is worth getting it done right by a quality shop. Do it once and not have to worry about it fading or peeling.

I just found out I can get a deal through Sweetwater.com for music gear since they sell our products and we work together. Balls. haha. They have some really nice Fenders on sale...

I'll sell ya my ASA's with the tires for $450. ;)

They're mesh wheels correct? not really my kinda wheel but that is a good price. I promised no car parts until after the wedding. Gotta wait and see how big of a hole we put ourselves in.

If you guys ever think about getting married, elope.

^ i second the elope part.... and my wedding wasnt that big... but just elope and then have a party or reception later.

yea im seeing how expensive that s*** is right now with my roomate Phil, he and his now fiancee are planning a wedding, and im seeing how much hes paying for this and that and all i can think in the back of my head is well there is no way in hell eloping isnt the smart choice now!! haha

I don't understand why people spend thousands and thousands of dollars on a wedding. Most marriages end in divorce, the money spent on the wedding could have been used to buy a house. GO to Vegas, get married , have a reception when get back home and buy a new home to share!

^ yeah i already told jenn "IF we get to that point, that i dont want a wedding, id rather elope, use the money on a house and be that much better off financially to start our marriage, as opposed to broke, and forced to rent some place for a few years while we can save up for a house just to spend all kinds of money for one day on a wedding"

I didn't care about the wedding part I just wanted to have a big reception/party afterwards. And honestly that is proving to be 95% of the cost of the whole thing.

I didn't want to spend a dime on a wedding! Justice of the peace would've been fine with me...

But, Steph wanted a wedding, so we came to a good compromise. Luckily, she wasn't one of those prissy, bride-zilla bitches, and we found some awesome deals, so our wedding only cost us $6000 or so. Best day of my life! (so far at least. lol)

we're being pretty cheap about everything, it's more the stress of trying to get everything done and all the little crap like center peices. My plan was Vegas, Elvis, and anyone that wanted to go.

And invitations, They don't need to be a master piece work of art. I should've just made a facebook event and mailed a letter with date, time, address and directions to those that don't have fb.

Speaking of finances I made the mistake and priced out the remainder of my RX-7 build. I tallied every off-the-shelf part I need to buy and I still have over $4k remaining :( and that doesn't cover the custom stuff (intake manifold, exhaust manifold) or the supplies needed to make my own custom stuff (seat brackets, etc.)1

But there's no rush on your build, right Jon? It's not like you need $4k tomorrow. I know my build will take a year or more. But when your RX-7 is "done" (I use that term loosely because they are never done) you will be proud of it, have a blast driving it and it will be built by YOU! And that will be priceless. :)

Quick estimate for getting wheels, tires, alignment, tune and other randoms I can think of i'm 3kish rough estimate from being "done". And thats with out going forged yet.

Well scaring the crap outta the wife with a ride around the block is always worth $1k. Muhaha...

very true, and getting it running, fixing any remaining vac leaks and getting it tuned is the top of the list. Everything else can wait a little bit

For absolutely needed parts, my build total remaining is around $1300. That doesn't include exhaust, cage, seats, wheels, or extra body parts. With all that it adds another 4,500. Hence my hesitation to just get it done/drivable or get it done how I WANT. :/

Jess, you'll probably agree, that building it is half (if not more) the fun though, right? I need to stop by and give a hand. I keep forgetting...
