The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

sorry to hear man, good luck!

I just found out that I didn't get the job I applied for/wanted up in WI...so I'll be here in OH for a bit longer!

In a couple of years I'll probably be heading over to VA/D.C. area for more/better jobs...it's just that it's soooooo expensive to live over there :/

If I had to guess, anywhere 2 pieces of metal are put together. Potential for water storage, especially if it's spot welded together and water get pushed behind the panel or seam sealer somehow where paint was not applied...

This. Just make sure if there's any bare metal showing to hit it with maybe wd-40 afterwards or something to displace the water. If there's salt from the winter on parts and you steam clean it can also speed up corrosion. Don't forget pics when your done!

a friendly reminder about the advance pricing for the Mazda car club ticket at Mid-Ohio, June 8-9, 2012 ...

The special ticket is currently at their advance price of $40 as you may know, however after May 4th the ticket will be at the standard price of $50.

Now would be a good time to push those members on the edge to get their tickets within the next 3 weeks and save $10!

I will get plenty of pictures of before and after. I'm nervous and excited about cleaning my engine bay. Is that pathetic?

^ any update or link for tickets yet on Belle Isle?

Here is the skinny on Belle Isle, Cadillac is the main sponsor of this event and we have to wait on them to reach out to their partners. Once this is done, we will have our pricing and we will post up ASAP. Rest Assured that they want our members at this event and we will be one of the first to be contacted once this information is released. We do not have any control or say so, neither does Grand-Am per se...we just have to bide our time.

Out of a job and on the hunt again. The whole working 56+ hours a week and trying to keep up with full time school and have any family time was rediculous. Things happen for a reason, but I really need to find another job and hopefully soon.
What do you do (for work)?

Good luck with the job hunt Corey

That sucks Kev, went through alot of not getting the job I wanted but there is good news, You get to hang out with us a little longer!

I think I'm out for Mid-Ohio this year :( Just too busy this year.

and then some...

when i was graduating college i had a job offer in DC, 50k to start.... cost of living factored in and it was like making 25-30k to start in pittsburgh
so if you are moving to DC, you better make sure its actually a pay raise once all the factor of living is factored in

exactly, i have a good thing going here so i wouldn't take anything less than 70 over there...just take your rent now and X by 2.5...that's usually what it is, crazy expensive!

but still a couple years away, so lots more time here!!!

You got me thinking with that, so out of curiousity... I compared Munroe Falls to Pittsburgh. If I was to move to Pittsburgh with my current salary, it'd be an 11.4% raise... effectively.

s***... I know where I'm looking if I ever need a job. Hahaha.

Vehtek - A automotive stamping plant that supplies parts to almost every big brand of car on the road. When I started they said there would be little to no mandatory overtime and there wasn't in the last 3 years, but we have been working the last 7 weeks straight with no days off and they where saying that it might continue till July or August. By body just couldn't handle it any more and I was already just averaging 3 hours a sleep a day and with working the whole weekend on top of that my body had no time to re-cooperate or have time to stay awake and complete my design projects.

trying to connvince Amber to let me put some wheels on the gift registry, not going so well.

Found a great price on some Enkei GTC-01's but it'll have to wait till later this summer if they're still at that price.
