I remember not too long before that day, gas was at an all time high of $4.00 a gallon.
Everyone wants to blame Obama.

While I agree you can't assign blame to one person his unwillingness to support domestic drilling or the construction of the US-Canada pipeline certainly isn't helping. While I fully support taking the government out of our daily lives, oil prices need to be regulated and all this speculation crap needs to end. I know many, many people that could not function/perform their jobs if gas was no longer affordable (i.e. can't live without it). Much like how there isn't sales tax on food. Also, the next time someone tries to blame oil companies for the price of gas tell them to look at how much of what they're paying is due to state and federal taxes...I remember not too long before that day, gas was at an all time high of $4.00 a gallon.

This.as much as i'd like to...we are not supposed to talk about politics on the forums.
Locally gas may have been higher but I'm pretty sure the national average is now at an all-time high. I'm paying $3.79 for regular now in SW OH, whereas back in 2008 when prices first went up I was paying $3.65 for premium in SW VA.People have at max, a 4 year memory. Gas was higher than this before until the floor dropped out of everything. The only thing the gas prices are doing are influencing me to drive the Civic more this summer than the other two gas hogs.
