The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

I ran Nitto NT-01 for several years. before switching to Hoosier. Great track tire! Not the fastest one out there, but they are fast, withstand heat and wear very well. The NT-01 is the same compound as the Toyo RA1. There is absolutely no reason to heat cycle NT-01s. Just take it easy the first few laps. One set will last 6-8 track weekends. The only problem as an only tire is the tread is only halfway through the usable rubber on the tire so if it rains you are in trouble. And if you hit a nail or piece of glass, then there is no tread depth to protect from punctures.

Rain shouldn't be an issue for me. If it does rain, I could just use my daily summer wheels, which have Yokohama S-Drive tires.

some food saving thought for those of your out there who garage their cars during the winter; check your insurance companies to see if you have anything similar:

Layaway Period
(not applicable in all states or for all products)Layaway 3 month--12 month policy term where all coverage is suspended from December 1st to March 1st of the policy term. (Exception for policies carrying comprehensive coverage: Comprehensive coverage is continuous throughout the 12 month term.)

Layaway 5 month--12 month policy term where all coverage is suspended from November 1st to April 1st of the policy. (Exception for policies carrying comprehensive coverage: Comprehensive coverage is continuous throughout the 12 month term.)

if you already knew this and do it, awesome! but if not, check it out, it might save you some money during the time you don't use your car during the winter/off season!

Before you do that, and if you have a loan on your car, first ask the lender if they have any policy regarding storage and lowering insurance on that car. The only way I was able to put storage insurance on the MSM was to give them the rear license plate so that I could guarantee that I wasn't driving the car. My old credit union did not allow it at all.

If only they were a inch narrower :( and less exspensive

Nah. I'm more of a plain Jane kid of cat though.

But that shop does get some tasty parts in from the motherland. I keep a close watch on their FB page for anything nice. I was talking to them about supplying Wes and I with our KLZE's since they said they had two of them. He said they were curve necks (which 90% of the time aren't true ZE's) and I asked him to take some pics of the head stampings for me so I could verify they are true ZE's and I never heard back. heh-heh.

anyone have any 215 45 17 tires theyll let go for cheap? i have 2 falken ziex 912s and i would like a couple more just to add to my other wheels and i dont wanna buy new tires, since i need to save my money. im interested in 16s as well for the track. let me know. im down to pick up some of your unwanted tires once i get my debt with evan sorted out.
