The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

Aah but you forget sir... I started with a P5. Those things that I mentioned, I experienced with my P5. The Miata has seen two autocrosses. Starvation isn't an issue with those cars since the engine is positioned the correct way... ;)

O ryly? I recall your motor oil not registering on the dipstick on two separate occasions, buddy. Burn! hahaha.

But yeah, I agree with Phen and aMaff (for once, lulz) about not tracking it if you can't sacrifice it to a wall. God forbid, of course. But what do I know, I'm just a track poser. Self inflicted burn! haha

Jeez. I wish I saved all the pics I took from the years I have been racing of the messed up cars (though the g/fs I have lost quite a bit(but keep the car)). Some I even helped get so they could drive/limp home, and some cars laid out at the gates (for the tow truck on Monday) as a warning to who enter at what is at risk. Not to mention the loss of life we had this year with MC.

OUP here is one

So I called AWR today after class and he said they had the deep oil sumps in stock and vwalla it's on its way in the mail. I talked to 3 others selling there and they almost want one for the new price when it was used. And another linked me to a thread where they wanted $399 without shipping. I laughed pretty hard to myself and then called AWR right after that to see what was goingon with his production and if there was any in stock

I know, just turned 86k today

REALLY thinking about pulling the trigger on this one. Original owner '04, 60K mi, 5sp, black heated leather, new clutch and brakes. It was a WI car until fall '10, and my heart kind of sank when he told me that, but it was REALLY clean! Only a little bit of rust around the inside lips of the rear quarters that he covered up with some bedliner material.

I'm just having a moral dilemma about it. I told him I could only do $8000, and he came down from $9250 to $8250. He said that was his bottom line, and I said I wouldn't have a problem paying that as long as the car really impressed me. The car was very nice, but it wasn't "immaculate" by any means. All 4 rims had curb rash (tires had plenty of life though), pass. side front bumper bracket was worn and the bumper stuck out a tad ($5 part for me, no biggie), couple chips on the hood, rear bumper was almost touching the hatch on the pass. side, almost all 4 doors and 1 quarter panel had small dings on them, and it had a HORRIBLE wax job on it...s*** was in every knook and crannie, and all over the black plastic roof rack.

Minor things overall, but I don't know if I should shell out the extra $250 when I told myself $8000 was it? He DID come down a grand though, seems like it was taken care of, ran and drove awesome, and I know it books for at least $9000, plus he drove it less than 8000 miles a year! I might just say eff it...lol

what was the price?

Someone buy these KW's so I don't... He's in Dayton, OH and asking $850.

great price but i snagged a set of awr's for less with 2 sets of rear springs

Do eeet. It's a manual too? Was this the one in Toledo? I can't keep track of all the 6's you've looked at. Plus if this one is local we won't need the expenses to travel to pick up a different one.

Yea, the Toledo one. :)

And that's what I was thinking too...the travel expenses. I think I'd have less than $8000 in the white NC one, but more than $7500. And it'd be a hassle to try and get a temp tag out of state, get insurance on a car I don't know if I'm buying yet, etc. It's worth it to stay local if possible. lol

Sounds like you made up your mind, buddy. Now swoop in and buy it! I'll drive out there with you to pick it up. :)

I think I have too. :)

Wouldn't you know though, Kevin called me on the way out there. What a coincidence right! Said he looked at a MS6 at Park Wooster that was really nice. High miles, 115K, but only wanted $12K, even after they put $1000 into it, and the guy did a new clutch and VVT before trading it in. Sounds like a solid car. He said they'd give him $6000 on trade, but he told them his neighbor was interested in it, and he'd get back with them.

I am still, to an extent I guess. It'd be nice to only spend $6500 on one, instead of over $8000, but in comparing the 2, I think the 5sp one is much nicer. Obviously the mileage, 04 w/60k > 05 w/108K. Black heated leather > cloth. Is it worth another $1750 though? I dunno. He still hasn't said "Hey, buy my car so I can go buy this MS6" though, so I don't know what's going on. LOL

To me the mileage would be worth it. If you bought a beater for$1750 and got 48k miles out of it would you be happy?

Just curious if anyone might have serious interest in my MSP? I'm very tempted to go road racing this year because I could win a lot of contingency cash. My car would not be optimal for 40 minute races so I'm looking at different options. I would need about $7000 for it as it finished last season to make it worth my while.

So, I looked at the brakes on the 3 and they look fine, wheel bearings are good too. Still have the damn ABS light though. Any suggestions?

I just want to throw out the Bristol ticket offer to all of you again. PM me if you are interested. I know $120 each for tickets and a place to stay is a tough nut to crack but we have already paid for the tickets and we can work something out with you if need be.

Sorry Larry, I got nothing.

You might have to bite the bullet and have the light checked out by a shop. Auto Zone scanners only do CEL's I believe. We have a scanner that does it all at work, CEL, Airbag, ABS, etc., but it's WAY to expensive for me to ask to check out lights for friends. lol

That's what I am afraid of. Going to a shop and paying for an hour labor for 5 minutes work.
